The more compact design, in which the motor sits alongside the blade — starts at around $100. There are many saws on the market under this price, but they're not as powerful, nor are they built for a lifetime's use. Professional-grade sidewinders, which run quieter and cut through dense wood better, cost between $125 and $150.

My Ryobi scroll saw made a pop sound when I was using it. Now it won't go. How do I fix this?

pop as in electrical pop? if so it sounds like a brush problem at the commutator. If it is worth fixing cost wise electric power tools can usually have brushes repaired if you know how.

How to dismantle Motor housing for a makita cordless circular saw for diagnoses

The replacement part will cost about as much as a new saw. The housing and case is probably warped and deformed enough that it would nearly impossible to get the old one out and a new one in.. Get a new saw.

The armature is bad. A new armature is about the same cost as a new saw. Buy a Milwaukee next time.

I have no idea but where did you originally buy the saw? Seller might be able to help you with that. What do you usually cut in your saw? I got circular blades from sawblade.com , check them out.

Circular saw won't start after having cut pavers

You fried the motor and most of the time it isn't worth repairing, since the parts will cost you more that a replacement saw.

If you are going to continue to cut pavers, suggest you either take it very slow and cut 1 or .5 paver and then let it cool down. But a water cooled tile saw would be better.

I sawed the power cord in half...! It was a skil saw brand But obviously I am 'unskilled'... The saw cost about $65. Can this be repaired or should I get a new saw...?

Yes it can be repaird. No offense, but can you do it? Take handle appart, may have torx screws, and remove old cord. You can buy a new exact replacement cord or a generic cordset to replace. Check wire size on your old cord.

Ryobi 18v circular saw owners manual - blade is loose!

Usually there is a button to press that locks the shaft arbor and then you use a wrench to tighten OFTEN is a left hand thread!

Check for lock button behind the blade guard toward the motor.
