I have a model 6520-21 Sawzall that doesn't work. Pull the trigger and nothing's almost brand new, used very little. I did get it to work briefly. Any ideas?

These are prone to the brushes hanging up in the brush tubes. Try removing the 2 brush caps, remove the brushes & inspect to see if there is debris preventing the brushes from contacting the armature. Blow out with compressed air and reinstall - making sure the brushes travel freely in the tubes.
Second would be to test the switch with a multimeter - if you have questions on doing this let me know and I'll walk you through it.
Last would be to test the field connections to see if there is a burnt terminal on the field itself.
Good luck - let me know if this is helpful.

Skil saw stops I bump it it starts then it stops I bump it it starts

The two groves could be caused by the auto stop pin in the brushes but I would also check the brushes are not getting stuck in the brush holders.

Milwaukee Sawzall Plus just stopped running

Remove the handle and check there is power going to the switch, if not unplug and remove and repair/replace .the cable.
If there is check the brushes are long enough and are not stuck in the brush holders. Other wise take it to a repair agant.

Makita JR3000V stopped working

I would have checked the cord first. Cords are a high failure part because they always get bent and pulled and such. Some versions of the jr3000v had problems with field wires breaking right at the field terminal.

Porter Cable Tiger saw 9735 stopped working

blow it out and spin the motor by hand you may have saw dust blocking the brushes. If that's not it check the brushes to see if they have life left in them. If not that check the cord for an open with a volt ohme meter.
Hope that helps!

Super Sawzall 6527 just stopped working. I did an

could be a couple things, unplug tool and look at the pins on both the cord and the pin housing to make sure none pushed back, next remove handle half and remote electronic and look for a loose flag terminal at the brush holder, look for loose wires on the switch, (give a gentle tug) and remove the brushes and look for unusual wear patterns and possibly a burnt brush spring. Let me know if you need more help.

I have a Milwaukee 6509-22 that was working good but I had to use it to cut some sprinkler pipes and the soil was sandy and it sucked some sand into the housing as the motor turned on. It continued to work...

Remove the brush plugs on the unit, they are the round black plastic caps with a phillipps screwdriver center on the top and bottom near the handle of the unit and remove the brushes, you may need tweezers to pull them out since dirt was sucked up, then blow out the unit with compressed air through all openings and try to push and pull blade to rotate the motor while you blow it out. then reinstall brushes, do not tighten the caps to tight as they will break. It should work fine, they are a very tough built unit !

No power to saw works sometimes then stops and wont run

check the cord for the pins pulling out and then I would test thru to the brush holders. Also if you are comfortable removing the handle half check for a loose connection to the switch and the flag terminals at the brush tubes. Let me know if you need more help.

the guard not releasing could be dirt around the spindle hub or the guard is bent, I would unplug tool and manually pull the guard down to see which one, if it is just sticking you can use a dry lube to cure that, the break could be dirty commutator or worn out brushes, switch. Give me the model number and I will try and find a breakdown for you and go further.

Reciprocating Saw / Stopped Working (No Response)

Many of my power tools that have stopped working, it has always been the "ON-OFF" switch that has been the proplem. Try blowing out the bugger, but watch that you don't loose some of the contacts. Never had brushes actually wear out, but did have one wire break off the brush.
