What is the best chainsaw for a female to use, need easy start, no electrical?

None, they are too dangerous. You need strong arms in case of kick back.

But if you must, a national and well known brand like Stihl or Husquvarna. The Stihl MS170 might suit you.

"I am very satisfied with every aspect of this saw and love how light weight it is. It starts easily and runs great. I have cut up to 16 inch diameter oak, and it did a great job, considering the size of the saw. The local dealer was very knowledgeable and very helpful."

Kelseyville, CA

The STIHL MS 170 is the perfect lightweight chainsaw for homeowners seeking a great value. Compact, lightweight with just the right amount of power, the MS 170 makes quick work of trimming or cutting small trees, fallen limbs after a storm, and other tasks around the yard. And even at its great price, the MS 170 has many of the same design features the professionals depend on.

Please make sure you also get the safety gear. Vibration proof gloves to stop 'white finger', hard hat, visor, ear defenders, and most importantly chainsaw pants which has carbon fibres to jam the chain rather than cutting your leg off.

Is it safe to use the 41/2" hand grinder one handed?

The danger of using a grinder single handed is that if the disk catches in the workpiece, the grinder will try to pull out of your hand and you can loose control of it and risk possible injury or damage what you are working on. This is especially dangerous if you are working off a ladder or on a height as you could loose your balance.
When using an angle grinder you should always wear eye protection and try to keep your head to one side out of the plane of the disk avoiding sparks and possible fragments of the disk which will fly at high speed if it shatters.

How to use it

It is immensely worrying that you have asked that question on here, and leads me to believe that if you can't look up that information up for yourself you shouldn't be using a chainsaw, however here are some links. Do you have a good local hospital nearby?
Good luck

Chain stops when it touchs log

A gas engined saw has a clutch that can slip if overly oiled internally, but electric saws don't use a clutch. Most however, have a safety disconnect to the drive sprocket that shears or otherwise removes power to the chain while the motor runs. The worst problem can be a broken gear within the gearbox and requires dis-assembly to discover. Many modern saws use plastic gears in place of metal ones and are prone to failure. The fact that the chain turns when not under load would seem to eliminate the gearbox, but don't discount that until proven. Hope this helps!

Blade wont move

there is a broken gear in the gear reduction box. (explain:) the motor spins at a high rpm, the chain moves at a 1/4 or less rpm than the motor. a series of gears reduces the speed, which in turn creates torque, allowing the saw to have the force to keep cutting without stopping. One of the gears is broken or a keyway on a shaft is far as i know, no electrical power tools are rebuildable. it's a safety thing (electric shock if reassembled wrong...they are priced for replacement...get a new one...

Chain saw motor runs but chain doesn't

There are a couple of reason the saw blade will not turn.
- Make sure you have bar and chain oil in saw.
-Make sure oil is running on the saw blade and chain.
-Make sure the clutch is not stuck.
- Make sure the bar sprocket is not frozen.
-The safety kick back guard needs to be re-set.
-Shut off saw. Push and pull guard.
Please let me know what you find.
