Cordless is easier to use, but if you use the sander for a big job the cord models are better for due to continues power supply.

Why does cordless drill charger light blink off after 3 seconds?

It could be a defective battery or it might just be normal for the charger and it lets you know its charging. Look in the manual for the tool and it should tell you why it blinks and turns off. If you dont have the manual i'm sure you can look it up online.

Plug in the sander, Turn it on and Wiggle the wire around the plug. If your sander jumps on and off your plug need to be replaced. This should be a easy fix if you are a bit mechanically inclined. If that doesn't work, get a ohm meter and see if your cord is hooped. If cord is fine then look at the brushes.

without knowing what the model number is you also have to remove the pad assembly and usually you will find some there if all removed you can GENTLY pry the cover halves apart. Go to with you model number and you can download a breakdown for this tool.
