Yes, but you have to use an auxiliary 3 jaw chuck adapter and you do it.

The bit wont lock in the drill, how do i fix this problem

This is a very easy fix - you have a quick change chuck on this tool. Turn the chuck counter-clockwise and pull it straight off - the new one goes on the same way. Quick Change Bit Chuck

Quick change clutch is locked

Push the rubber sleve off the drill bit and up the drill bit then the plastic ring. release the clip around the spindle. Slide the clip and chuck sleve forward and remove the ball sitting in the spindle. You should then be able to pull the bit from the machine. If it does not want to come hold the bit in a vice and tap the spindle off the end of the bit using a suitable punch. Rebuild chuck in reverse.

Drill bit seems to wobble on normal drilling function (over rotates at tip of bit)

could be a bent bit... if its not its gotta be your chuck or the screw that holds it on

I have a hitiachi DH38ye drill and it won't accept the Bosch spline bits. they go in ok but the chuck won't lock. The drill accepts the hammer bits fine but won't accept the drill bits

you have me stumped on this one. The tool you have is a spline shank hammer and it should accept all standard spline bits and also hammer iron that is made for these. Is it possible that the Bosch bit has a burr on the splines not allowing it to lock? I have checked the Hitachi site and found no reason it would not work. I will continue checking though.

Drill bit keeps coming loose

When the drill bit on a hammer drill keeps loosening up one of two things is happening. 1. The chuck is worn out and needs to be replaced. 2. The chuck is not tight enough before you start drilling. If you have the style of chuck that requires a key do not be bashful about using maximum force to tighten the chuck and move the chuck key from hole to hole and tighten it in each position. Joe

There is play in the chuck may be bearings. it means drill bit wanders slightly when drilling. drill bits lock in properly but the chuck has left to right play in it

You seem to have found the problem, now you must disassemble the gear head and remove the chuck. Open the chuck jaws wide and look for a screw inside that locks the chuck to the shaft.

Push or pull the business end toward the body while gently pressing and rotating the bit into it. The chuck will snap back up to retain the bit when you have it lined up right.

Drill bits do not lock in chuck or will not go in at all.

If the picture that I am seeing is of the same that you have then I can tell you that those are special bits that are fluted on the shanks so they can hammer. Also those drills do not chuck up like a regular drill. You have to pull the collar down insert the bit and rotate it until it falls in and then release the collar. Remember these bits are specific to the drill and can be hard to find, a rental store is a good place to find them for sale. Hope this helps. 2rns4u <*{{{>(
