My rotary hoe has a steel rod that you can adjust for the depth and if that rod is set too far in the ground it will just sit and spin. my rod has holes in it and you set it with a pin that makes it less deeper if you want.

How to reset depth micrometers , any style , easiest method for Mitutoyo line

The nut on the end of each rod is for calibrations. On a clean flat surface check your reading at "0"and see if adjustment is needed either left or right on the nut for getting before zero or after zero readings. Adjust the nut as little as possible and re check for zero multiple times because the nut is sensitive. hope this helps.

I have an old octagon barrel 22 long rifel model 61 . the rod sleeve has a dimple 8" inches into it so, the rod won't go in at that point how can I fix this problem ?oh yes , it is an old winchester...

Nice rifle! It depends on the shape and depth of the dent, but I think you might be able to push it out from the inside. If it's not too deep or cracked, you can try this method:
1. measure the inside diameter of the rod sleeve (called a tubular magazine). Sorry, I don't have one, so I can't tell you exactly what this measurement is.
2. Go to you local hardware store and buy a hardwood dowel rod that is just slightly smaller in diameter than the tube.
3. Round over the end of the dowel slightly with some sandpaper, clean and wipe it down with gun oil.
4. Slide the dowel into the tube until it reaches the dent, and tap it until it begins to pass that point. Don't let it go too far past, or it will be difficult to pull back out. Don't force the dowel into the tube if it doesn't slide freely (up to the point of the dent) or you won't be able to remove it. And don't push it past the point where you can grip it securely.
5. Pull the dowel back out, rotate slightly, and repeat.

But, use your best judgement: If it doesn't look like this method will work based on the shape and depth of the dent, you should take it to a competent gunsmith, and let them sort it out. Assuming that the rest of the rifle is in good condition, you have a classic that's worth repairing. Best of luck!

How can I adjust the water level in the tank?

With a standard Fluidmaster fill valve, on the side of the float there is a rod that controls the depth of the float. On top of that rod is what looks like a phillips head on a screw. You can use your fingers usually, but if you would like you can use a screwdriver, simply move the float level up and down by screwing either clockwise or counter clockwise to change the level in the tank. Flush a little water after making the adjustments to guage the water level when the fill valve shuts off. Good luck

I just received a 693 plunge router via internet order. As soon as i took out the plunge part out of the case and moved the lever it pupped up and now will not move up or down > Is there something I am...

The plunge base is spring loaded. When you move the lever is springs to the up position. To lower it place the base on a flat surface, press and hold the lever down and push down on the handles. The router bit height should be set on the depth rod with the base in the down position. Then release it to the up position. When you have positioned the bit where you want it on the work piece, press the lever and "plunge" the bit down into the workpiece. The depth rod setting will stop the bit at the depth you set it for.

My rear tine tiller lurches out of control when I use it

Hi it sounds like you are trying too till the soil with the tiller in the fast position and probably too deep for your first pass. Really the fast position is for transporting the tiller from the field. Try putting the tiller in slow which would be the down position. Turn the throttle all the way foward, engage the tines and push your depth rod on the back down to where it is only going into the soil about four inches or even less depending on the hardnes of the soil. Even though a Troy is the best Tiller made it will try to run away with you when your trying to hog the soil all at once. Your depth setting is very important and people seem to forget the importance of adjusting it. Try these things, and remember to alway's start your tilling in the slow full throttle position. Lowering your depth a little at a time. Till you find the appropriete feed for your speed.

Hammer drills Features

There are a few features you may want to pay attention to include: A Depth Rod mounted to the drill lets you know when the bit reaches the desired depth; Variable Speed Selection allows you to adjust the drill for specific jobs. Use high speed for small holes and low speed for large holes; Reverse can retrieve a hopelessly stuck bit; Removable Side Handles give the operator better control in normal use, and can be removed in confined spaces.
