First shut off the main water supply. This is likely located close to your water meter where the main water supply enters your house. After shutting the water off, open a faucet on the lower level and let the water lines drain. Disconnect the water supply line running to the base of the fixture you will be working on. On some, this will just be a screw on connection, and on others it may be a soldered pipe. If it's soldered, use a hacksaw (or better yet, a pipe cutter) to cut the pipe in two places, about 2" down from the base of the fixture and also 6" to 10" further down the pipe. Use the reamer on the pipe cutter to remove any burrs on the copper pipes, and then clean them (with a piece of sandpaper or emery cloth) until they shine. Slide the compression nut from the shut off valve onto the pipe with the threads facing the open end. Then slide on the compression ring. Wrap the pipe with Teflon tape or spread plumbing joint compound on the end of the pipe, and then push the shutoff onto the end of the pipe. Slide the compression nut and ring up to the shut off valve and hand tighten the nut. Attach the compression fitting of the flexible supply tube to the other side of the shut off valve and hand tighten it as well. Attach the compression fitting on the supply tube to the base of the faucet and hand tighten it. Once all your compression fittings are attached and hand tightened, use an adjustable wrench to tighten them all firmly. Be careful you don't over tighten as this can bend the soft copper pipe out of round or damage a compression fitting. Turn the water back on and check for leaks. (Don't forget to open the shut off valve when you turn on the faucet.)

I have moen #3330 shower unit. All is installed but cannot get water to flow. What do I need to do???

First I would check that there is no debris stuck in the valve. In most cases if this is a pressure balanced valve if either the cold or hot water side does not have pressure the valve will not function. When installing the valve was it soldered in? If so was the valve cartridge removed when soldering? Was the valve body flushed after installation before the valve body installed if removed during installation? That model has plastic valve cartridges which are very sensitive to heat and must be removed before soldering. Also the valve body has intergal shut offs make sure that they are turned to the on position for both hot and cold. As I said above being that this is a pressure balanced valve water pressure must be available from both hot and cold. If either hot or cold has less pressure then the other the valve will balance the pressure to be equal, this is to prevent scalding.

Eaton Home Heartbeat Water ShutOff Controller...

The Water Shut-Off Controller can be linked to HOMEheartbeat water sensors (HHBWATERSNSR) to automatically shut off your house's main water linein the event of a water leak. Simply place Water Sensors in high-riskareas for water damage. Then install your Water Shut-Off Controller onyour main water line and setup the unit to turn off if a Water Sensorbecomes wet. Then, when the icemaker malfunctions or the toiletoverflows your Water Sensor will become wet and your main water linewill close, minimizing the costly water damage.

NOTICE! This product requires installation of, and will only work with a HOMEheartbeat Ball Valve. Ball Valve installation may require professional plumbing assistance.

Important Note: Use of this product requires the purchase of the HOMEheartbeat Starter Pack

not all that familiar with your particular faucet. but in my experience, most plumbers dont put grease on the valves when installing them . the factory just uses enough grease to get the valve in the faucet. if you have extremely hot water and use it . it wont take to long for it to cause this problem.. just an opinion. i cant imagine how the buildings shutoff could have anything to do with your problem.

After flush tank refills very slowly

Make sure that any valves that you shut to install the fill valve are fully open after the installation.

If that doesn't work, the following is from another fix your stuff site:
Shut off water supply. Lift the rod arm and remove top cap assembly by turning 1/8 turn counterclockwise. Using a straightened coat hanger, carefully clean out the inlet passage of the Valve.

If these don't help, check the model number of your Fluidmaster and include that the next time you write.

Installed new Glacier bay 814-278 singe handle mixing valve. In first try the valve turned on an off. After some other plmubing repairs, the same valve will not completly shut off. it dribbles some water....

If pipes were soldered for any reason after installation of the faucet valve, tiny pieces of debris could have contaminated the inside of the pipe and traveled to the cartridge and internal facet mechanism causing it to get stuck in an open position. This happened to me on a brand new tub faucet once.

One handle pressure balance Monticello, no cold water through valve.

Check to ensure all the shut off valves are open. There may be one within the plumbing line that was shut off and not reopened after installation. The other possibilty is that the cartridge in the shower unit itself could be installed upside down. If this is the case then as soon as you turn the unit on it would go to straight hot. Let me know if either works. If not we'll attack it from another angle.

I installed a Moen Adler faucet. It will not shut

You may just have a piece of sediment lodged in the cartridge from when the water was shut off during installation. Carefully remove the cartridge and turn the water on to flush out any obstructions. re install the cartridge and test.

What space is required behind range to allow for gas hook up

If you follow the installation directions for this range, you should be able to have zero clearance from the wall IF the electric outlet and gas shut off valves are located in the proper places. The gas valve should not protrude more than 2" from the back wall in order to have the stove sit flush against the back wall, when pushed all the way in.

Here's a copy of the installation instructions from Jenn-Air for your stove. Please see page 10 for their recommended location of the electric outlet and gas supply line and shut off valve
