Installing the new switch is fairly simple. Connect the two hot (black) wires to the two brass terminals on the new switch. Gently push the new switch back into the box. Fasten the switch to the box with the two long screws at the top and bottom of the switch.

T104r timer manual switch not working, clock runs fine, on and off trippers work

The contacts inside the time clock have most likely warn out. If it is coming on randomly it is not making good contact and will create arcing, which is dangerous. Call an electrician, they may be able to replace just the internals.

Need wiring diagram or schematic

What do you need the diagram for? Is this a switch replacement? Turn off the power at the circuit breaker box and remove the cover plate to see the wiring or is this a new installation that needs to have wiring ran to it?

Hello, I need a little more info,-
is it for new installation or to replace existing one?
In generall combo switch/outlet comes with its propper colored screws which indicates the position of the wiring, white screw is for neutral (white), single bronce screw is for light (wire that returns from fixture)
double bronce screw which is united by small metal for hot wire(black), I hope it works!

Should light be on after installation trvgfw

What type product (switch?) do you have?
What type of device did you replace? Single-pole, 3-way, 4-way switch? Timer? Fan-light switch? Multi-purpose switch?
What type voltage, and what wires are you working with?
What does instruction sheet say about load rating? For example, some devices do not work with CFL, while others have minimum watt rating. All devices have load ratings, including maximum wattage.

I have a leviton 6214 programmable light switch - it lights up inside but it does not turn lights on outside.

Is this a new installation? New installation then wiring might be bad.
Or older installation that has stopped working? Timer might be bad.

The Leviton 6124 is rated for incandescent light bulbs up to 1200 watts, and does not appear to be rated for CFL, but could possibly work with CFL and LED.
Change bulb to incandescent.

Copy following link to identify timer, and correct wiring.

The lights work when switched on manually, but the clock component does not appear to be working. Is it possible that the clock part does not work when the lights will come on when switched on manually?

If this is a new installation the timer is mis-wired. Swap the wires on terminals 1 and 2. The timer clock motor is connected internally to terminal #1, which means that the incoming hot (Line) from the breaker needs to be on terminal #1. The lights (Load) are connected to terminal #2.

If this is a timer that has been in use for a long period of time, then the clock motor is bad. Make sure that you get the 120 volt clock motor. Replacement # is WG1570 http://www.aplussupply.com/intermatic/timer.htm

I replaced a ceiling fan light combo with a light fixture only. After the installation, the off and on position reversed on the wall switch. When i flipped the switch to the new off position it tripped the...

You are causing a short when you flip the switch because it is connecting your hot wire and your neutral together, but I need more info before I can be more specific. I assume this was not the type of fan/light where the fan is controlled by a pull chain, and there was only one switch on the wall. Correct?
So there had to be at least one extra wire at the light fixture. What did you do with that?
You would have had an extra switch (or speed control) on the wall. What did you do with that?

If you removed the extra wall switch, what did you do with those wires?
Is there a 3-way switch involved? (is there more than one wall switch to control the same light fixture?)
Thanks for using fixya, I'll be glad to help further.
