Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

I have a D7300 printer serial No Q7057B bought from Staples about 6 weeks ago. The message appears on screen: "Ink system has failed. Unable to print". I have turned it off and removed the power cable for 10 seconds on 3 seperate occasions but no good. What do you advise?

Try this one:

Reset the Printer to the factory default settings by using these instructions:
1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.
2. Press and hold OK and HELP buttons while plugging in the power cord.
Now please unplug and re plug the power cable at the back of the Printer.

Hope that helps......

    2: unplug powercord
3: press '6' and 'Select Photo'(most right of the '6') button and hold pressed
    4: plug in powercord
5: keep holding key's pressed until display shuts down
6: release buttons; message "Semi NVM Reset"

    procedure 2:
1: press simultaious "arrow left" + "arrow right"
    2: enter '1 2 3'
3: this wil get you in to mfg menu

If they do not work you need to clean the contact to cartridge sensor, that is located on cartridge carriage with soft cotton and printer cleaning solution or isopropyl alcohol. If you use alcohol be careful not to spread it on the printer head.

Now someone can post here the Best solution, as usual.

"Techexpert12: you do not have a clue, just stop with your attitude before we all get upset.

    Apologies to the user.

From page 123 of user manual here:

    Error message: Ink System Failure
Solution The print head assembly or the ink delivery system has failed and the
HP Photosmart printer printer can no longer print.
Turn off the printer, then unplug its power cord. Wait about 10 seconds, then plug it
in again. If this does not clear the error message, please contact HP Support.

Often this problem is given by a patine of dirt on the printer carriage sensor, that is the plaque iside the printer carriage.
Try cleaning it, if it does not work, then printhead is reallly defective and must be replaced.

Fairly new printer & the ink system is already failing ?
Probably the inks are the ones that came with the unit.

2 options : Get a new genuine replacement ink OR call HP tech support for a replacement.

Hi

If the printer is out of the Box, don not try any other ink cartridges, becoz you must use the HOST ink cartridges that is shipped with the printer for the first time.It seems that it is problem with Host ink cartridge.

You can check the cartridge whether its a Host ink cartridge or normal one by looking at the serial number. If Serial number starts with C9, it Host; if it starts with C8 its normal one.

Only HP can replace it , none of the store sells Host ink cartridges, they sell the replacement ones.
You can either call HP tech support or, return the printer to staples.

Thank You

New Ink cartridges registering as empty ...

Is it an HP printer? We had the same problem at work with print cartridges purchased at Staples. They have a major quality control problem. Your new print cartridge may be empty or dried out (died on the shelf). It's my problem at work, as I have over 80 HP deskjets, and Purchasing still insists on buying the Staples cartridges rather than the HP.

Sometimes if you shake a print cartridge really hard it may correct the problem. However, I would buy or borrow a black HP print cartridge and try it out in your printer. Works almost every time on the job. Good luck.
