before full reset. or Menu > Settings > RESET > You
will see a Samsung Instinct reset code on the screen. Press Proceed
then enter the reset code press HOME key. Phone will reset itself in a
few min.
looks like $100 for someone to do it or $20 to do it yourself... For me the way forward is clear as this likely takes little more than an hour complete. http://www.google.com/products?q=samsung+instinct+cracked+screen+replacement&aq=f
I had the same problem, call sprint and tell them the problem and they should exchange it for you, the problem is that the screen colapsed just enough to be touching that area of the phone. Don't go to a sprint store all they will tell you is its not under warranty and insurance should cover it. 100.00. hell no.
Its free replacement if you call sprint......
do what is called a "hard reset". take the battery out while the phone is still on and leave it sit for about a minute, then return the battery to the phone and turn it on. see if this helps. if not, back up your phone and try doing a full reset.
Then its the motherboard inside the phone where the charging port connects. It costs about 150-200 to fix unless you have sprint insurance. This happens if the phone is accidentally dropped JUST wrong still plugged into the charger, or if the charger is taken out JUST wrong and sideways or crooked. On a plus side, it is a common thing for a lot of phones and it is fixable by a technician.
