Hello.
First switch off the power.
Get the cabinet door off, start by removing the side screws that hold the door (please have someone to help you, holding the door, because this doors are heavy.)
After you removed the door, remove the screws holding the fascia (about 2 on each side + 2 holding the door lock).
Remove the fascia and you wil get acess to the door lock, disconnect the wiring from the micro switch, connect the new par and reverse the process.
Cheers

You may find the spring on the door lock assembly has broken and the latch has rolled over to the locked position you can check this by setting a program and if the pimp runs with the foot open the lock has failed

Just moved house dont know how to operate hot point dishwasher model no-bf 168

The manual for the Hotpoint BF168 dishwasher is available here: http://imagebank.indesitcompany.co.uk/brochures_online/pdf/Hotpoint/Dishwashers/BFI68.pdf . If the direct link doesn't work, start here: http://www.hotpointservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do . Then enter Hotpoint and Dishwasher in the Browse for product drop down menus. Then scroll through th pages to find your model.

Make sure the water is on, then load the racks. Fill the dispenser with the appropriate amount of dishwasher detergent. Press the On/off button on the right of the washer control panel. Press the wash program selector (the leftmost button) until the desired program type (icons to the left of the button) has the LED light up. Then close the door. See the manual for delayed cycles and adding salt for the water softener.

I hope this helps.
