Is your model number something like R22 or R24?

If so, "EE3" is "Magnetron (1) and (2) failure".

Most commonly this is caused by a bad door switch or door switch mount or a bad connection or bad relay on the circuit board.

We have a service manual for these models and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Adobe Reader to view or print it.

Please reply back with your model number if you need more help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Why does my microwave not work? It displays what I believe is an error code.

. The SE error code means the microwave has had a Key short error. The control panel or smart board will need to be replaced.

How do I replace the bulb for the display panel of a Sharp Microwave oven Model # R-314F ?

Normally switch power off and remove plug from wall socket, undo screws around side and back panel and remove outer cover, then the light socket will be visable so change light bulb and reassemble, CAUTION: high voltage may be present so best left to service person for safety

Call service error

There is a fault in the magnetron circuit somewhere. Do not mess with this yourself because there is lethal high voltage present even when the microwave is unplugged. Call a service tech.

Hi, I have a Sharps R-23 AM 1900W microwave. When i use it, it starts the timer and counts down for a few seconds then stops and flashes with 'err 3' on the display. Can you help at all with...

Is that code actually "EE3"?

If so, that is called a Magnetron (1) and (2) failure, but it may not be the magnetron.

It may be any of number of things, form door switches to control board relays to the high voltage parts.

Methodical troubleshooting is needed, and we have the manual for similar models here.

Power but no display to unit

Not sure about the Neff brand, but in general you'd want to check for 110VAC power on the primary side of the low voltage transformer on the control panel / board. If that is present, check the secondary for voltage, about 12-30VAC. If the unit has a VFD type display, there will be a heater filament supply, usually around 2.5-6VAC. Also look for bad connecitons on the VFD. If those voltages are present, check connections on the board, look for bloated / bulging capacitors, shorted diodes, breaks in the board, etc. Also look for thermal cutouts and thermostats. If this doesn't fix it, can you take several photos of the inner parts and circuit boards?
