We have a Samsung DLP about 5 years old. We noticed that the fan or some sort of hummning sound was coming from the back louder than normal while TV is on. Then suddenly the picture would start to freeze...

This tv have a colors wheel, hear loud motor noises, humming noises, squiling or grinding noises, have pictures black and white. All these causes are by the colors wheel is worn out, warp rubbing against it motor or fiber plastic glass briddle about to brake aparts.Don't turn this tv on anymore until,u change the colors wheel or u will damage the projection engine. The colors wheel are hard to change for amatur and hobiest.Because involved taking out many machanical parts, before even can come to the colors wheel to take out and change it.The best course to to hire a Tv Tech.to do this job.The price colors wheel part and labors.Awhile back was about $500-550,now??

My tv no have colors

not sure if this is your problem but a lot of electronic tuners in tv sets fine tune the input, (antenna, cable or satillite box) so you need to turn off the TV set as well as the input sourcethen turn on the input source then turn on the TV set, if that does not work than the set has a chroma(color) circuit has a problem

Not really a problem, Ijust want to know how long a normal cycle should last.

wash cycle is between 10-14 munites. rinse cycle is about 10 munites. pluse time to fill and discharge water from the tub. total time should be about 40-45 munites

Olevia 37 turning off for no particular reason

I suspect that the main power supply is trying to self-destruct; what you describe could be the switching power supply struggling to stay up and running. It isn't the cable company's problem.
FYI: Olevia has declared bankruptcy so you may not be able to get any help from them.

Color mostly green

Sounds like tyo me that the picture tube is getting soft on ya!!. Its a common factor that occours with all tvs but mostly with zenith. A service tech might be able for a small fee rejuvinate the picture tube but theres never a warrantee with this type repair. Its not something a user should attemp to do as theres hi voltage inside this set even on the tube socket after its ubplugged for awhile. Seek the advise of a repair pro to see how bad the tube is. Good Luck
