Question about Digital Cameras

1 Answer

I HAVE A CRAZY QUESTION..MY WIFE AND I JUST RETURNED FROM LAS VEGAS. ON SUNDAY AUGUST 24TH OUR LAST DAY WE DECIDED TO HAVE A BRUNCH SO WE WENT TO THE SOUTH POINT CASINO AND HOTEL. AFTER, WE WENT INTO THE GIFT/SPORT SHOP. WE WERE TAKEN PICTURES OF MY GRANDDAUGHTER(HER BIRTHDAY SHE WAS 2 ON THE 25TH) BY SOME ANIMALS THAT WERE PRESERVED BY A TAXIDERMIST. WE LOST THE CAMERA IN THAT SHOP. WE REALIZED ABOUT 3 HRS LATER THAT WE DID NOT HAVE THE CAMERA. WHAT IS SO UPSETTING IS THE FACT THAT WE WENT TO VEGAS FOR A FAMILY REUNION, AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR 3 CHILDREN WHO ALL TURNED 2. IT HAS BEEN DEVASTATING TO US MOSTLY MY WIFE (CHRIS) SINCE WE HAD TAKEN APPROXIMATELY 200 OR MORE PHOTOS. MY NEICE THAT LIVES IN VEGAS HAS BEEN GOING TO THE HOTEL ALMOST EVERYDAY TO CHECK TO SEE IF SOMEONE (HONEST) TURNED IN THE CAMERA. WE ARE NOT UPSET ABOUT THE CAMERA, WE WANT THAT FLASH MEMORY SO WE CAN GET OUR PHOTOS, IT SEEMS THAT WE HAVE NOTHING NOW TO LOOK BACK ON EVEN THOUGH WE WERE THERE, MY QUESTION: CAN YOU LOCATE THE FLASH MEMORY BY SOME SORT OF SATELITE LOCATER OR WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU EXPERTS DO...I KNOW ITS ASKING MUCH BUT MY WIFE HAS CRIED SO MANY TIMES SINCE WE HAVE BEEN BACK, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. SERIOUSLY LOOKING: MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS Capozzolofam@comcast.net

I'm sorry on this incidence of camera lost.
Digital Camera for normal use has no signal transmission or link with Satellite so can't be located by this technology.
Again sorry to unable to help you in this.
Regards,

Lens is stuck between 45 and 55

Have you removed the lens -- I suspect that you may have same thing that I do - I want to get Nikon to realize that they have a design flaw and provide free replacement or repairs (suspect repair uneconomical so replacement likely)-- there is plastic part at the base of the lens that can crack off. It did on mine when I was trying to get it to change focal length. This part can rotate and completely obscure the lens, but can be easily rotated back into the clear position if you remove, rotate the part and then replace the lens. My lens also no longer functions with auto focus and it locked in telephoto mode - it has changed the way I take photos and made it rather difficult on my last day in Las Vegas (discouraging me from going to top of Eiffel Tower or The Stratosphere since the pictures would not be very good). I am looking for others with this same problem. Maybe we can band together.

I have a Canon Powershot SD550 Digital Elph IXUS 750 and last sunday I shot some photos outdoor at the equestrin center, but when I went indoors I found I didn't have a flash operating either on automatic...

Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't take a picture when the shutter button is pressed, or with an inoperative flash. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

I want somebody to tell me the best custom setting for canon G9 when you take photo at night.let say Las Vegas at night

All recent Canon point and shoots, including the G9, have special scene modes. There are two which would be very good for "Las Vegas at night". These are "Night Scene" (if you have a tripod), and "Night Snapshot" (no tripod needed, but less spectacular results). You may read more about them here:
