Try the following regardless of the software as this is the common error message provided by Microsoft. Of course this won't rule out either a corrupt installer or incompatibility's

  1. Disable/Configure any anti-spyware or anti-virus software on your system during installation process. For example: Spybot Search and Destroy Program or Norton Anti-Virus
  2. Check to see if any spyware or adware is installed on your system blocking the completion of install process.
  3. Check to see if you find any unwanted entry in Add/Remove Programs or Internet Explorer - Add/On's section (Tools - Internet Options - Programs -> Manage Add On's). If you found one, remove/disable this entry.
  4. On Windows Vista, disable UAC (User Access Control) feature for your account

How to install Google Earth & Google Ghrome on Windows 7

Many People like to use Google Earth to explore the world without leaving the comfort of their own homes.
Whether its just to explore a certain area or go on a sight seeing tour.

Now when you try to install Google Earth or Google Chrome on Windows 7 you will no doubt see this error "Google Earth installer error 0x8004071c"

This error is related to the installer package no being able to connect to the internet for updating purposes. Even older versions of the software wont install.

To get Google Earth or Google Chrome installed and working follow the instructions bellow.

Click on the start menu (orb) and in the text/search box type regedit and hit enter.
The registry editor will pop up, navigate through the registry by following this: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>Microsoft>
Windows>CurrentVersion>Setup>State.

When you have navigated to State, in the right hand pane you will see "ImageState" underneath "default".
Right click on ImageState and select Modify. A little box will pop up with text in the Value Data pane. Delete all of that text, leave it blank and click OK.

Hi,
To resolvethis issue, perform the steps in the "Reregister the Windows Installer service" section. If youexperience the issue after you perform these steps, you may also have toperform the steps in the "Run System File Checker" section. Reregisterthe Windows Installer service loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution');The Windows Installer service manages the installation and removal ofprograms. If the registration of theMicrosoft installation engine is corrupted, you may not be able to removeprograms that you have installed by using Windows Installer. In that case, youhave to unregister and reregister the Windows Installer service. To do this, follow these steps: Windows Installer
  1. Start your computer in Safe mode. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Restart the computer.
    2. After the BIOS information is displayed, press F8.

  1. Log on to the computer as local administrator.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type cmd.exe, and then click OK.
  3. At the command prompt, type msiexec /unregister , and then press ENTER.
  4. At the command prompt, type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.

When installing Java, at the end the message ''Error 1721. There is a problem with this windows Installer package''. A program required for this install to complete could not run. I've tried everything....

Try the steps laid out in this MS KB article about the installer service:

Reboot the computer, after it beeps start pushing F8. You should get a menu. Select Safe Mode and push enter.

Once Windows comes up click start and type in CMD (for Vista/7). Right-click cmd.exe and select "Run As Administrator". (For XP: click start then Run. Put in CMD and click OK).
Put in
msiexec /unregister

Then bring up the Run box again and put in
msiexec /register
Close the CMD box and reboot the PC, letting it boot as normal. Try the Java install process again. If it still doesn't work try the SFC command listed in the above KB article (which I can help with).

Error 2350

THE PROBLEM The Windows Error 2350 occurs when the installed version of the Windows Installer is too old for the MSI to execute. The registration entry for the engine has been damaged and all attempts to execute the MSI installation packages will not be successful.Errors on your system may be caused by invalid registry entries and outdated or corrupt drivers.
THE SOLUTIONTo fix the registration entry for the Windows Installer, the Installer service should first be registered then unregistered using msiexec /unregister and msiexec /regserver (Type both command in run) or the command line switches. The user will then have to restart Windows.

Copy the entire program to a folder on the hard drive and try to launch it from there. When you are doing your copy go into folder options and make sure you show all hidden files before copying to the hard drive. Then go to the folder you copied it to and launch the setup.

Cisco VPN Client for 32 bit vista

Download the latest version of the Cisco VPN Client. My version is 5.0.03.0530.

You can also try using the Microsoft "MSIZap" utility to ensure a clean uninstall. It is a command-line utility. You will need the original MSI install file from the Cisco VPN client to use MSIZap.

You can download it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa370523.aspx

Error 1721

This page applys to XP,

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/891985

but the solution should be similar. If you've done the registering, the next suspect would be something corrupt in your VPN package.

Try a fresh download or copy of it, and be sure you run as administrator during the install.
