It keeps rebooting but successfully reboots ?

One thing you can try is to set it so it does NOT reboot on errors

Features of McAfee Antivirus

McAfee anti-virus features include anti-virus, anti-spyware tools, firewall software to protect your pc from all type of viruses and threats over the network. McAfee bundles a lot of features into its antivirus. Besides the classical protection features found in most antivirus products, McAfee also integrates a Silent Full Screen feature, which stops all antivirus notifications from being displayed while full screen applications are running, so it won't interfere with your work. The Secure File Shredder feature is another useful feature, which will allow you to permanently and totally delete confidential files, without leaving any traces of them and eliminating all recovery possibilities. It is also optimized for laptops, by integrating a battery-saving mode that will leave intensive scans that require more power and resources for later, when your laptop is plugged into an electricity source.

Some other features are "on access file scanner" - you can access the files while scanning them, "inbound and outbound firewall protection" - to monitor your incoming and outgoing traffic over the network, it can block any suspicious connection that can harm your computer, " spyware protection" - to detect and remove spywares in order to protect your pc and your personal data from hackers, " daily definition update "- this will help your protection software to have the most recent updated virus database, so that it can prevent newly added malicious codes spreading in your pc. Some other features are " McAfee X-Ray rootkit detection " this feature will detect rootkits and remove them, "McAfee Site Advisor " - displays a safety rating for websites based on tests for evidence of spam, malware and phishing, and " McAfee System Guards" - monitors a computer for activity that may be caused by virus infection or hacker activity.

Hi, i've recently bought an acer aspire one running windows 7. it came with a trial version of McAfee. I uninstalled this and put on Norton 360 which i bought at the same time. Now the pc won't boot up so...

McAfee?? this product you need to check how to totally remove it from your netbook because it will block most of the other anti virus. Consider as business strategy, so that end user just use this anti virus, rather than other.

I've had my Dell xps m1210 for almost three years now. But it's not working properly anymore. It started with my computer freezing so I restarted it and I notice my windows was starting weird with 0's...

It sounds like you have a motherboard failing, but before you thing about replacing it or call Dell, run a deep virus scan to make sure you don't have a serious virus infection. Run McAfee, Norton Anti-virus or Kaspersky Anti-virus scan.

Virus protection programs such as Nortons and McAfee can be purchased from the computer shop.
There are free virus programs you can downloaf off the Internet. The one I like is AVG, click on this link to their WEB site :-

Getting Pop Ups saying something about virus protection . . . I bought McAfee subscription when I purchased this studio Lap Top. . . McAfee Rep said I bought the Software - - not the Technical Support - -...

It's not a virus. You have "Malware" on your computer. Download a few malware scanners and run them. Next, you will have to get it out of your registry. Otherwise, it will keep coming back. I use PC Toolc "Registry Mechanic". There are many out there, just compare the features to what you need & want. Run it about once every month to keep things cleaned up.

This behaviour can be brought up with virus presence or porgram being corrupted . so the only solution i can give u is to format the machine .

Virus?

Firstly, the most important thing you can do is keep up-to-date virus protection-either a paid program like "Mcafee" or a free version, (which I'm not sold on but better than nothing)like AVG.....available here:
http://free.avg.com/download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition

Ad/spyware blockers are important tohave as well.

How long ago did the problems start? a day or 2?
You could first try system restore.
"start", "all Programs", Accessories", "System tools", System Restore", "Restore My Computer to an Earlier time", and select a date before your troubles occurred...note that this WILL remove any PROGRAMS or UPDATES you have downloaded in the meantime, but NOT any files that you have created or docs you have edited, pictures added, etc.
Hopefully "system restore" is on and hasn;t been disabled by whatever is causing your problem (which is often the case).
If this works...great...go update your antivirus, etc.
If Not, try booting in safe mode...."Restart", and hold "F8" as soon as the screen goes black for the reboot, select "safe mode" and try running a virus scan from this mode.
You colud also try downloading (in regular mode) something like "spybot searcvh and destroy" to try and find your Problem> You can get it here:

Hope this helps...good luck ;)

Weird addressbar flipping

The Yahoo Software comes with Spyware & Adware; never seen AT&T Yahoo Antivirus detect any virus in my experience. Unfortunately you have to install the software to setup your DSL for the first time; after that it's worthless. I would scan your computer with Microsoft Windows Defender or Ad-Aware by Lavasoft; both are free tools and find many of the common infections. Moreover, it wouldn't hurt to pay for a McAfee or a Nortin Subscription for virus protection; I use McAfee because it doesn't lag my system. There is a free virus protection program called AVG Free which I'm told works good for the price.

Computer locked up and can't get into anything

Try starting in safe mode and remove the offending program.

 1. Start the laptop
 2. After the Dell Screen vanishes begin pressing F8
 3. You will get a Windows Startup Screen
 4. Select SafeMode and press enter twice
 5. Windows should load up
 6. Go into Control Panel Add Remove Programs
 7. Remove the anti virus software and anything else you suspect maybe causing grief.
 8. Restart the laptop normally and see what happens.
 9. Hopefully by now you will be able to go back and do the factory imaging.
