I HAVE A LG HT506 DVD PLAYER AND WHEN I PLAY ANY DVD IT PLAYS FOR A SHORT TIME THEN THE PICTURE FREEZES . IF I LEAVE IT FOR A SHORT WHILE IT STARTS PLAYING AGAIN THEN FREEZES ONCE AGAIN CAN YOU HELP PLEASE.

The dvd player has reached the end of it's service life, over a period of time the laser pickup becomes weaker until it can no longer read the disc. One option is to purchase a disc cleaning kit and follow the instructions to possibly give new life to the unit, if that fails it is far cheaper to replace the item than have it repaired.

Try to clean the lens of your player and the cd.If they freezes again,Maybe the lens of your DVD player have not good enough its better to replace lens

clean your DVD player...it has got a lot of dust in it................you can remove the dust with a blower.

If you can get the cover off of it have a look and see if the fan or fans are working properly...if not working it can cause the dvd player to over heat and freeze.......Hope this helps

First of all,if you are using rental dvds, there might be scratch which your dvd player might have an issue to read it;however,if you have tried many dvds in this player and you are having this issue, it is time to move on to another dvd player.
I recommend a Pioneer dvd player.

Yes, the unit must be opened to access the lens. Open up the top and you should be able to get at the optical assembly. Clean the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Try a DVD. If the problem persists, try playing a music CD. If the music CD plays but the DVD does not, the optics are starting to fail and should be replaced.

it might be that you are playing a dual layer dvd in the player. The player needs to focus on the second layer of the movie, and that might be why the dvd freezes. Leave it there for a while and the dvd should continue if it is this situation.

leave your dvd player off for about 1 week.if it still do the same thing then you will have to replace it.good luck
