My Xbox Kinect wont play my new game because it says it needs to be updated. Would I neeed internet to update it.

You must update. Xbox requires it for proper functioning in the xbox kinect system. This enables the xbox to recognize your kinect camera and adds more features. So you not updating it wont let it work. Its the way Xbox companies makes their money.

Solution 1: Update your console software

1. Turn off the console.
2. Unplug the sensor from the console, and then plug the sensor cable into the AUX port on the back of the console.

2. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
3. Make sure the USB connector is plugged into the back of the console.

The light located near the middle of the split cable should be green.

No green light? Try plugging the cable into another outlet to make sure that the cable is working properly. If you still do not see a green light, your cable might need to be replaced. Contact
Xbox Support.

4. Turn on the console.

If these solutions do not solve the problem, please contact Xbox Support

1) make shure you have got a xbox live membership with online playing time left.
2) create a new user on your xbox, sighn up for xbox live and see if you can play it on that account.
3) try sighning in and out of your user a few times.
4) make shure your xbox is connected to the internet.
5)make shure your xbox does not need a update, if so then update it.

if all this fail then consult athe manufacterers online support.

it is possible to get the updated dashboard without connecting to xbox live, you need to have the KINECT sensor, attach it with all components and insert KINECT ADVENTURES(which is the update), wait for the process to complete... abbra cadabbra i own 1 modded offline non-banned 360 and 1 stock online 360 both with new dashboard update

it is just a update from xbox you should always update in which you dont update programs can and will run slow

I got this problem last night. you have to be connected to live, and it should automatically ask you if you want to update. say yes, or you'll be signed out of live and you can't use the kinect. That will fix the problem.

they kinect wants you to install video updates for online chatting, if you do not install this it will not work right, thankyou for using fixya.com

You need a internet connection to update. Find somebody with dsl and take your 360 console over there and use thier internet to update your console if you dont have dsl.

There is no need to have technical knowledge to do fix this problem,, just get xbox repair guide from internet and follow the steps in it and fix your problem by your own.......

well first u neeed to make sure that the XBOX game is Compatible with the 360, if you check google for Original xbox games compatibilty list use that too make sure its compatible and also make sure u have internet as you made need a update to play some of those games, also make sure u put the disc in the 360
