Wherever you read the PSC 1210 is not compatible with XP was mistaken. If you do not have the driver CD you can download it from HP's website here. If you have already installed the driver you will need to unolpuf the 1210's USB cable from the computer, then go to the printer's folder and delete the 1210. Next install the driver and do not plug the 1210 into the computer until instructed.

There are also various updates, including soe security updates and a patch for IE7 that should be applied. They can all be downloaded from the link given above.

How can I use scanner on my printer? my printer says it is a printer, scanner and copier. I do not know how to use the scanner. I put a print under the lid, pressed scanner, but where is the picture/print?...

You need to install the software that came with the printer. Then in the HP program group there will be a number of programs, one of which will allow you to scan. Try all the programs if you do not know which one to use (on my printer I have to use the HP Solution centre program).

Have a hp office jet 6310 and i use it wirelessly all the time for printing and have used it to fax. I have never used scanner but would like to. when i click start scan or scan to it show select...

I suggest that you run the scan from a computer and not from the printer, it works tons better. Each computer needs to have the install program run on it, NOT PLUG AND PLAY. Plug and play will make most stuff work, but not everything.
Further, HP printers are fussy about exactly when to connect the printer, get the correct install program for your printer and OS from HP.com, and install following the directions exactly.
Scanning is the one function that never works with plug and play.

My Kodak ESP 3 Won't Scan

Did you install the full software driver for the all-in-one? The drivers are here: http://www.kodak.com/global/mul/service/downloads/DownloadLookup.jhtml?pq-path=9103/12666/12667&product=EKN034524

Next try a new USB cable and plugging the unit into a different port. If you use a print server or USB hub, try connecting directly to the computer. Scanners need bi-directional communication with the computer and thus are likely to have issues even if the printer doesn't.

Can the scanning software on the computer initiate the scan? (That is in the full software package. Alternatively Vista came with Paint and File> Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan.)

I hope this helps.

What is a scanner and how do i use it on my lexmark 5650 copier?

Hello. The scanner enables you to scan and print photos, text documents, magazine articles, newspapers, and other publications. You can also scan a document for faxing. The scan software must be installed in your computer. Use the installation cd that came with the printer to install the software. Here's an article in the Lexmark website that will show you how to use the scanner. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/9ShAN7 . Hope this helps.

Hi,

Make sure that you completely installed the printer / scanner driver, and all the software use in order to operate and use the all in one printer. Also if you cannot print/copies scan, check the usb cable connecting from your printer to you computer.

Unable to Scan documents

If the software is installed correctly it should scan from the scanner, otherwise i would suggest using the scan button on the software screen. Make sure all your drivers are up to date!

Printer/scanner/photocopier. scanner not working. Any ideas?

Are you scanning to your computer? If you are getting an error during the transfer to your computer, check your firewall. I had a scanner (mine is a Panasonic) problem with the transfer to my computer. I corrected it by printing the properties of the scanner and found out the port number that the scanner used and opened the port in the firewall. Hope it helps.

Lexmark 1270 scans but will not print

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue

UNABLE TO GET SCANER TO PRINT TO COMPUTER

Oks, first things first; 1. Have you checked the cable going from the scanner to the computer? 2. Have you ensured the drivers and software for the scanner, are correctly installed? 3. Have you checked to see if you can scan using your computer (e.g. via Irfanview, MS Paint, Photoshop, or whichever program you have that allows scanning?)
