VSCL870 Hair Clipper: I removed blades for cleaning. I have the small lower cutter that connects to the driver. I have the larger cutter. And I have a white plastic piece, straight and thin, 1.25" long with .25" tabs on each end. I can't figure out where this goes. But every time I reassemble and try it, it sounds like a chain saw. Where does this plastic peice go? Thanks!

I used the clippers to cut my dog... once finished I took it apart to clean out excess lubed parts and reassembled...I have done this many times before with no problems... I begin cutting and the blades...

Check your blade latch is working properly. If you took your clipper apart and your blades are not cutting it is one of 2 things. Your blade drive is not assembled properly or your blade latch is not holding the blade on the clipper. If you took your blade apart, check the blade alignment. The cutter blade needs to be slightly behind the comb blade.

My clippers are no longer cutting. I took it apart today and cleaned out all the hair but I still can't get it to cut. I felt it and it's very sharp it's just not cutting any hair. I have been told it...

there is probably hair stuck between the cutters
remove the cutters from the clipper and you can push the top blade out from under the spring retainer making sure you keep the small plastic runner strip
clean the surfaces and using a flat bladed screw drive insert the blade under the spring and twist slightly to allow the top blade to slide back in
while it feels sharp , it is the sides of the cutter fingers that cut the hair ( like miniature guillotines) and those edges are easily worn off

Brand new blades #10 in perticular leave stripes

hi, new blades are not the answer try replacing the blade drive assembly which is located at the drive end of the clipper and goes from side to side, as the clippers are used this part will gradually wear in width thus not moving the cutter far enough to complete a cut this will produce snagging in smaller blades and tram lines in larger blades like 7, 5, 4 and 3's. All Clipper Parts are available for these clipper repairs.

Dont know how to install blade

on blade you will notice two small phillips head screws. remove both screws with thumb on blade. with other hand remove the blade. Blade has two parts. The smaller blade lays on top of the larger blade. align two blades together. Hold the blade compartment in your hand upward with smaller blade on top of the larger blade. On the clipper in between the two hole where screws go there is a small arm with a round shaped tip. Put the base on to the blades a fixing the round shaped arm into the blades ensure proper fitting. With hand holding the clipper turn over while thumb is holding the blades in place and replace screws.
