Try calibrating the printer.

    Calibrate the product
Calibration is a product function that optimizes print quality. If you experience any print-quality problems, calibrate the product.
    1. Open HP Color LaserJet CP1210 Series Toolbox or HP ToolboxFX.
    2. Click the Device Settings folder, and then click the Print Quality page.
    3. In the area for Color Calibration, select the Calibrate Now check box.
    4. Click Apply to calibrate the product immediately.

HP Laserjet M2727nf Mfp Printer scan to e-mail first page correct but other pages come out with lines

First print a test page out from a computer. If this has lines then its either a dirty drum in the toner cartridge or a bad fuser. IF the test print is fine then you just need to clean the glass over the scanner.

Black ink will not print but colors do

Most likely culprit is a dried up ink within the nozzles themselves. The best things for getting rid of dried ink in the nozzles is to use either a standard bathroom cleaner or rubbing alcohol. With the printer on open the door as if you were replacing ink. With the ink cartidges visable, unplug the printer so they stay put. Remove the cartridge and spray the cleaner in the where the ink is taking from the cartridge and clean it with whatever works. I really really good trick is if you have an old cartridge you can use a syringe to fill up the empty cartridge with your cleaning solution or rubbing alcohol. Insert the cartridge and run some test prints. This will for sure run the cleaner through the nozzle and hopefully dissolve the blockage.

I have an hp psc 1215 all-in-one. My black cartridge won't print. It recognises if I swap it out for a new one, and goes through all the motions. It registers the correct ink levels. The cradle...

The problem is not with the ink-cartridges. You've proved that, by swapping BLACK cartridges.

The problem is that the ink-jets that spray the BLACK ink onto the paper are clogged.
Thus, no BLACK ink reaches the paper.

Open the HP Printing Assistant, and open Utilities, and run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog the print-head.

Hp psc 1215 keeps printing the test page

It is not the test page it is alignment test page just put the printed alignment test page paper on scanner glass and press the scan button to complete the process. It is alignment process which is printer is doing for self testing after installing new cartridge. Just finish the process.

Have a nice day and do not forget to rate please...!

Head alignment - where?

Look for grease or ink on the encoder strip. it's the clear strip behind the printhead with dark bars on it. The best way I've found to clean this is with a cheap cotton glove dampened with alcohol. You just wipe the strip carefully between you gloved fingers.

Printer cuts off lines

I had this exact same problem - probably about a week after I put in NEW cartridges. I took them out, wiped the bottom off with a tissue (black and color) and put them back in. Did a test print and everything looks fine now.

Hp officejet 6110 not printing with black ink

Hi lilacky-

Here are some HP support links that might be helpful... and a couple questions to consider.

Q: Is your new cartridge one of these listed below?
"The HP Officejet 6100 series and HP Digital Copier Printer 410 products use the print cartridges listed below:
* HP 56 black print cartridge
* HP 57 tri-color print cartridge
* HP 58 photo cartridge (replaces the HP 56 black print cartridge for six-ink photo printing)" info from: Installing a Print Cartridge

Has your cartridge been sitting a while in the box, maybe in a warm spot? Some times even new cartridges dry out a little. Was your old cartridge low or completely gone? Just as a test, if you put it back in your printer does the old cartridge work? Any printer error messages? Can you print a test page or an alignment page for your black cartridge? These might be too many questions but here are some HP support links with some How To information for getting more answers. Please let me know if any of these are helpful. see also: Slow or No Response from Printer
