Hi jyasa,

More likely the mother board - because about all the modern laptop built today are integratedly built into a single board, where the power port is also integrated.

Hope this helps and good luck.

The power-supply must output several different voltages.
If it is partially broken, then only the power-lamp and the fan(s) will spin. Replace the power-supply

Try removing the battery then connect the power and see if it turn on without the battery. Otherwise I suspect a bad power board inside the computer.... most of the time if the adapter is giving the correct voltage before plugging it in... it could indicate a problem if the voltage is then lower after plugging it in however unlikely... although it would be aworth making sure you have the right power adaptor for your computer

I need a power unit for e machine 2230

If you can identify what the battery / laptop power requirements are, then you can buy replacement 'universal' laptop power supply / charger units which come with a selection of different standard connectors to plug the charger into the laptop.
Amazon sell a Sumvision Universal Laptop AC Charger Adapter which is available in different power output wattages (95V 120W).

My Gateway JM30 Laptop wont turn on

Try firstly removing the laptop's battery as it may be at a critical voltage and the system will not start because of it. Plug in your ac adapror and monitor what happens. Does the power light illuminate? If it does it should then boot up, if it doesn't, try a known good ac adaptor before going any further.
If the adaptor is fine then you have a mother board fault and should contact a dealer/repairer for further advice.
Hope this helps.

Gateway laptop won't turn on even after being charged or while plugged in.

Is any of the indicators glowing when you plugged in the laptop? If yes then try removing the battery and connect the laptop to the adaptor, and try to start it. If nothing changes or if no LED is glowing then make sure that the adaptor is okay. If you are sure that the adaptor is okay then you have a motherboard related issue

Laptop will not turn on.

plug it into the wall , most newer laptops will have a power boost while plugged into AC.
check your power cable receptical on the back of the laptop, these are notorious for getting loose.
check the cable on the ac adaptor, these are bad for getting breaks that you cant see in them (run your hand down the cable physically and fell for any breaks while unplugged, then do it again plugged in and watch for lights to flicker on the computer.
look for the power light on the laptop to come on when you plug the adaptor in. if you get a light on the adaptor and on the computer, then the adaptor isnt the issue.
the next step is checking the power button and power supply.. post what your results are here and we'll move to the next step if not resolved.
Regards!

Three different wireless cards could not connect to the wireless-G Router I need to confirm WEP and check router settings.

Plug an ethernet cable into the router and laptop, remove the wep key. See if you can connect wireless then. If not sounds like you need to manually remove the the connection from the connection properties (DONT DISABLE THE NETWORK ADAPTOR) then see if you can connect.

Gateway 504GR wont fully poot up

I too had this problem, I had to disconnedct the main power to the PC, give it 30 seconds to bleed any residual capacitor charge and then plugged back in and hit the main power switch and it booted normally.
