How to install

Free standing dishwashers do not need "installation". Inlet hose simply connects to standard faucet and exhaust set in sink. If you have a fancy faucet that is incompatible with your faucet, you could get creative and unscrew the faucet head and connect the dishwasher inlet hose to it.

Whirlpool gold drains all the time, unable to fill

Hello

Ensure the water faucet is turned on and the connection between the water and the dishwasher is secure. The hose connector should be snapped into place between the water faucet and the water hose.

Straighten the water hose and check for possible obstructions in the water hose, the water faucet and the hose connector. Clean as necessary. Turn on the faucet hot water slowly until it is all the way on to ensure proper water flow to the dishwasher.

Open and close the dishwasher door firmly. The dishwasher will not start a wash cycle if the door is ajar. Verify that the dishwasher is plugged in to a working power supply and that a wash cycle has been selected.

Avoid running other appliances that use water, such as a clothes washer, while the dishwasher is running, to avoid improper water pressure. This may result in a lack of water flow to the dishwasher.

Check to make sure large dishes, such as cookie sheets, pots or pans, are not blocking the spray jets. Avoid overloading the dishwasher.

A quick easy fix would be to get a hose clamp and tighten it down on the hose to keep it from popping off

You should be able to find extension or replacement hoses that you can use to extend the existing hoses at a hardware store. If you need to join two hoses that have female connectors, adaptors with two male connections are available.

I cannot get the attachment on my appt. size

The hose fitting goes onto an adapter that screws on to your faucet. You have to have the piece on your faucet for it to work. As best I can recall, once both pieces are in place, you pull down on the locking collar on the hose, put it on the faucet and relaese.
Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution..thanx!

Snap on fitting no longer stays on faucett

go to www.searspartsdirect.com and you can search by your model number for the dishwasher or any other kenmore part. The schematics magnify as you mouse over them and then you can scroll down to see the matching part number. The part 3378117 is the whole hose assembly including the faucet coupler and the full length of the hoses. Notice that the part number 3378117 has been substituted with W10217197. When I Googled for "W10217197 dishwasher" there were a number of vendors selling that part including ApplianceZone.com selling it for $20 less than Sears and other vendors. Unfortunately the way the faucet coupler is crimped onto the hoses you have to replace the full length of hose [not just the coupler] but I have a problem that requires the whole hose. I've opened the cabinet up - which required a star headed driver - and from there it's just a matter of removing basic connectors inside the box.
