Color Wheel problem

Did you ever find a solution to your color wheel issue? I replaced my color wheel recently and am having issues with the picture. Did you remove the jumper? Did you change any settings? Thanks!

Replacing the color wheel can sometimes switch Red With Blue. If you remove the jumper it could fix the problem.

Here's an article on it's replacement.

Not a color wheel is correct, more likely a DMD which is rather pricy and almost as much as the entire light engine which comes with it.

I have a Samsung DLP HLR5067 modeel tv, recently we have replaced the lamp, ballast and color wheel. The color is ok but when we watch dark (color)movies the black and browns look shadowed and irdescent. ...

You probhably have the wrong color wheel. There are several different ones and its imparitive that you replace it with the correct one. If you search here theres someone else that had the same issue and when they put thier old noisy color wheel back in the problem went away.

If you have had this unit for awhile it could just be the lamp. If the image does'nt brighten up you may have an issue with the light path. The color wheel produces the color. If there was an issue with the color wheel you would most likely have a black and white image.

The lamp would make you picture dark. The colorwheel will affect color quality. If brightness is an issue = lamp.If color is the issue = Colorwheel.

It says if your red and blue colors are reversed removing the jumper should fix the issue.

Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

Intermittent picture

Most likely your lamp needs to be replaced as that will cause the intr. picture issue. The color wheel will also have to be replaced. The color wheel is only available with the light engine which is part# 263223 and the lamp part #260962
