You need to send to it using the following languages:
    HP-GL/2, HP-GL, HP RTL, CALS G4 1055cm
Plus (36-in): plus Adobe PostScript 3

If you need more assistance on the types and explanations about these languages, ask me.

yes or a open source program that also supports the printer.

NOTE: the Printer did not come with this program in the box. You have to buy it separately.

this is an excerpt from the web site:
    "Can't print HPGL/2 or raster files on HP DJ 100, 110, 120, or 130 ?

The HP Designjet 100, 110, 120, and 130 don't ship with the ability to process HPGL/2 and raster files. When you try to send these files directly to one of these models, you get errors on the printer. Most of the time, the printer simply ‘reboots'. Now what do you do? You've got all these HPGL/2 files that can't be printed on these devices like the older HP Designjet models."

So you cant print from windows right out of the box.
Im searching for open source (it means free) software that supports your printer and the languages.

Ok, I've found a few programs. unfortunately, they are not completely free. Does autocad 2000 offer importing pdf's in the file menu? If so, Just save your pdf and open autocad. go to the import option and go to the pdf that you just saved.

Im now searching for pdf to CAD converters.

so you say that AutoCAD prints good to the HP.
Its just the WinPrint that is not able to print to the HP.
And you have already updated all of the drivers for Windows, as well as for AutoCAD.

do you have administrative privilages for both the computers and the server?

Your printer has either the HP-GL/2 settings configured wrong or the HP-GL/2 controller (chip) is defective.
The HP-GL/2 controls the vector graphics (images, attachments, etc).

On AutoCAD, in the printing settings, check anything that uses or enables HP-GL/2. I know there is a setting in AutoCAD 2007 and 2008 that says "enable support for HP-GL/2". but you have AutoCAD 2000, so it may look similar to this option.
Also, look for this setting in the actual Printer and the properties page of the printer (where you setup the ports, set is as default, etc.)

While you are there, list the supported print processors and the default data types.
    The page looks like this:

If this turns out to be the solution for the missing image in AutoCAD, then the remaining missing pdf - jpeg issue will require a RIP, no?

Sleep on it. I'll try the AutoCAD solution in the morning and let you know.

Thanks for your patience and help.

  • James A May 11, 2010

Correct. AutoCAD drawings print with great accuracy and speed. Microsoft Project 2000, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word all print as well. Yet any image, either by itself, as a pdf, or embedded in a document or drawing is ignored. By themselves, as a pdf there is no plot whatsoever. When embedded I get everything but the image regardless if it is pdf, jpeg et al.

I am the administrator for all, there is no server.

Importing images into AutoCAD is a two file process regardless of file extention. The AutoCAD file .dwg (vector) and the imported image file (whatever) and it's location are to this day maintained seperately, even so, small raster files (maps / scans etc.) would plot on the old HP 750 series machines. My 1050c won't. Incidentally I talked with ZEH last week and they indicated that they had a deal with HP to provide their RasterPlus RIP with the 1050c back in 2000 under an agreement that is still in effect to this day which prevents them from providing replacement copies. Weird, HP doesn't manufacture or provide troubleshooting or Tech assistance to this machine any more, so I guess they want all of us 1050c pilots to buy new, or we're stuck. When I run an AutoCAD plot with an inserted image on my Epson it runs perfectly.

    One hundred thousand thank you's.

  • James A May 11, 2010

So where we're at is I need the ZEH RasterPlus RIP that HP used to provide with these machines when they were new?

True. RAW is not a single format, but a generic term used to describe the raw data captured by camera sensors. Various camera manufacturers use different formats for this data.

You generally don't want to print the raw data anyway. That's because the raw data doesn't incorporate any of the sharpening, contrast adjustments, etc., that are applied to make the JPEG image. Use a photo editing program to make the adjustments, then convert to a format suitable for printing.

INTERNAL ERROR INCLUDING CORRUPTED DATA POSITION: h6fw_5.35/xl_mage line:154 VERSION: spl 5.35 06-03-2009

I had this problem of the printer reportings "Corrupted Data" on a Samsung CLP-300 and a Samsung MPL-1910 printer and found a software setting that resolves the issue. I only found this issue on Windows 8.1 but I'm not sure it's Windows OS related. I just hadn't had this problem on Windows 7, Vista or XP. My printers are all on my home network connected to print servers so use TCP/IP ports on the laptop.

Go to the Printer Properties menu and select the "Ports" tab (3rd from the left near the top of the menu box.
Select "Configure Ports..." within this tab
If you have "RAW" selected then select LPR.
I added a Queue Name to match the Print server but I'm not sure if this is required
Then click OK and then you'll be returned to the Printer Properties Menu box.
Select the "General" tab on the extreme left of the tabs and click on "Print Test Page"
If you get a "WIndows Printer Test Page" out then this has resolved your problem.

I notice that it still reports on the Test Page that the format is RAW but now it works fine.

How many copies will the Lexmark Z600 print out?

Specs say 10PPM black and 8PPM color in quick mode.

If you use higher resolution it will be reduced accordingly.

Refer to:

Z600 Series Specs

That is for a Z601, but the 600 should be the same.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Raw data printed, no formatting

If you create the data file in notepad, you're doing one step too many.

If I print the word HELLO in Notepad or Word, and then send it through the ncielabel drivers, you should get a label with the word Hello.

If I create the datastream with the printer's native language, you'll get all of the raw data because the driver is trying to print exactly what is on your notepad or Word page.

If you want to send raw data to the printer, you do not need to use a driver. Send the data to the IP Address or the Com port in question.

Avery Dennison, the folks that own Monarch/Paxar, have a utility that will allow you to send your notepad file either tcp/ip or through a com port. Go to:

If you're unable to figure out how to use the Help section to help you send the file through tcp, call 1-800-543-6650, option 7 for their tech support. This number and option is valid as of June, 2010.

Print out is too small

To resolve this, try the following actions:

* Check the default fonts within Microsoft Windows.
* Select your entire document and set it to a larger font.
* Make sure all your fonts are loaded properly.
* Change the resolution to quick print at 600 dpi. To do so:

1. Click Start, Settings, Printers.
2. Right click the Lexmark printer icon and choose Properties.
3. Choose the Document/Quality tab and set the resolution to 600 dpi quick print/draft.

* Change the Spool Data Format to RAW. To do this:

1. Click Start, Settings, Printers.
2. Right click the Lexmark printer icon and choose Properties.
3. Select the Details tab and click Spool Settings.
4. In the Spool Settings screen, set the Spool Data Format to RAW.
5. Click OK and then Apply.

Can't print from a Visual Fox Pro application with raw printer processor

The Report sent to printer should be in a recognised fonts and formats. If It work on other applications like word excel then you need to solve this through ur programmer of Visual foxpro reports.
