Ok button no go.

Hi there,
i have a problem where the 'ok' button will not work. All other buttons are ok. Therefore the camera cannot be used to select any menu feature.. I am a tech. but in 2-way radio and GPS repair. I suspected a dry joint but this is not the case. The up, down, right, left button all have continuity to the same point but the 'ok' button is out of this loop. The button itself seems ok as there is continuity when pressed.Ideally i would like a circuit diagram but olympus will not provide me one unless i am a dealer and have quoted me $260 to fix, with a complete PCB replacement.Do you guys have any idea on where the problem may lie. If it is in the micro well i guess its all over but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The camera is in good cond. and only used a handful of times over 2 or so years.
Thanks in advance.
Brett

My FE-140 has the same problem. Sometime it works but most of time it doesn't. I think this is related to some firmware defects.

The OK button is not working on my Nikon Coolpix S2500 any suggestions please

Hi Check for any dust or dirt that could be stuck around any of the buttons on the camera. If the camera is under the impression another button is being pressed (because of dust dirt) then the OK button will not work. If you cannot find any button that seems to be jammed then it maybe the sensor behind the OK button has failed. We hope the suggestions helps to get the camera running again

"Menu / OK" button is not functioning.

Your ribbon strip that connects the keypad to the main board has either come loose or more commonly has started to break on 1 of the 2 folds in it.
Only real solution is to have it replaced

Card not initialized

Kyle850. I have a fujifilm finepix camera myself, and just recently had the same problem. The camera worked fine until one day I turned it on to take a picture and there was the "card not initialized" message. To fix the problem, just turn on your camera, push the menu button and use the right/left arrow buttons near the zoom button in the top left corner of the camera. Push the right arrow button until you come to the "option" window in the camera's view finder and use the "up" function of the zoom to highlight the "set-up" window. Press "ok", and use the right arrow button scoll over to the "2" tab and press the ok button again. Then use the "up/down" function of the zoom button to scroll down to the "format" tab. Press ok button again and use the "left" button near the zoom in and out button to highlight the "ok" option in the format window. By pressing the ok button here, it will reformat and reinitialize your picture card. If you do have pics already on your pic card, you may want to take your pic card to a photo center and see about recovering these pics before you go through the reformat process because there is a good chance that when you reformat your pic disk any pics on it will be gone. Good luck. SG
