Question about Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook
The battery light on the body of the laptop, next to the power symbol continues to flash green and orange. This began after I accidentally unplugged the computer power cord without properly shutting down my computer first. Now my computer performace is slower and the light is flashing. I haven't been using a battery for a while because of cost. Instead just AC power. Is there anyway to restore my computer to make it run properly again and get rid of this flashing light? Please advise. Thanks
The flashing orange light indicates that the battery isn't working properly. This could be due to either the battery being worn out, or a battery fail safe has kicked in. Either way the battery will need to be replaced in order to fix this. Since the performance isn't quite right, I'm going to say that a fail safe has engaged, you can confirm this by running the computer without the battery and see how the performance is. You will need to replace the battery, and the replacement will make the machine work properly.
