I have the same problem. It keeps saying it's warming up but never makes a copy. I have tried disconnecting everything and then turning it back on. I can print, but it won't copy.

I just had this happen and what I found is that one of the ribbons on the motherboard came off, it had a blue tip with connectors on the end of it and it plugs into the mother board. You have to remove the paper guide on the back and then it takes a very small allen wrench to take out the two screws that hold on the plastic cover, once this is removed you will see a bunch of ribbons and cables to your left this is where if found the ribbon with blue tip that had fell off, once I put it back on the warming up message cleared and my scanner and copier started working again

Just a possibility.

That means its a scanner failure.in the warming up procedure the printer adjusts automatically to scan or copy mode.but the scanner failure does not let it do that.
there could be two possibilites either the scanner is failed due to some dust particles blocking the scanner to move forward.this could be repaired by servicing the printer internally.
or the scanner circuit is faulty so the scanner has to be replaced this will cost u nearly 60$ plus service charge.
thanks.

Im trying to get it to print copies only blanks so far

You can make multiple copies by loading them print side up into the upper feeder you'd use to fax, then entering the number of copies on the keypad and hitt the copy button for color or black
or you may lift up the carriage and place a page on the scanner glass, close the carriage select the number of copies and hit the copy button for color or black

Will not "Print" copies.

It may be that you are putting the page face down in the paper feeder when it needs to be face up or the other way around.

HP 7410 all in one-will not copy displaying warming

The display came back on and continues to print ok, but will not copy. Continues to say warming up when you try to copy. I read somewhere that we might have to change some board. We did not wany to put any money into it if we didnt know we could even get it working so we bought a new all in one by Brother. I own 3 HP laptops and the HP printers and have had many problems and their customer service is poor. Thank you for your help and your great site.

HP Officejet 7410 prints OK, but copy and fax comes out black all but 1 inch

The problem is on the scanner...
You have to change "scanner assembly". But... here in Greece this unit has not spare parts.... The repair procedure is "unit exchange". You have to contact HP Service in order to inform you if they can change only the scanner assembly and not whole unit... You can call telephone support.

HP OJ 7410 Allin1 not printing

try removing the printer, and re adding it. Sometimes when printer drivers go kaput, they don't drop cleanly. Also, check your power arrangement, as printer drivers are notoriously suspect to power glitches, just like modems.

Got backup?
