Bought compatible cheaper ink and the printer keeps saying not recognised ,any way round it

The chips on the cartridges, should be resetter to full. The newer Epson chips can't get a reset, so I would bring (or send) the bad ones back and ask for new ones.
Also make sure the contacts on the chip and in the pronter are clean and shiny.

Why does my printer not print?

The last time I put in a black ink cartridge, it only lasted 10 days with very little printing use. Yesterday I put in another black ink cartridge. It ran out again today. I am not printing...

If your printer is still under warranty, I would definately call Epson.
Somehow, the printer is using too much ink.

The Epson site does not state you can reset your R230; however, it does list a Diagnostics test you can perform to figure out what is wrong. Without knowing more about the issue at hand this is the best I can provide:

Epson cx8400 printer error

Basic thing to do is take out the inks.
Check for any obstructions in the printer ( packaging tapes ).
Reinsert the cartridges if same error persist

Recommendations > Have it returned / replaced to the Place of Purchase or Call Epson Tech Support
to avail the warranty options for your printer.

I believe it has a 1 year warranty from the date of purchase

be ready with the proof of purchase and serial number of the printer if your planning to call Epson Tech Support.

make sure you have the paper where it hits the part that sucks in the page to be printed (you can see the gray stucture by removing the paper and looking into where the paper is put) this might cause your papers, if you have a small amount, to bend to where the dip of the curve is facing the front of the printer. *Also the best way to prevent this is by having a LOT of paper where its fed (if the bending thing doesn't work.* Also the clicking noise is the sucking part not getting a piece of paper. This is because the paper not inserted correctly means that the pronter detects that paper is in the pronter but it can't get it.

Ink problems


1. First make sure you have installed the catridge correctly by taking out and placing it again.

2. Then,
The following Epson ink cartridges should be used in your device:

Black: T0431 (high capacity cartridge)
or T0441 (standard capacity cartridge)

And make sure you use the genuine original EPSON catridge.

3. If you are using a genuine one, then TRY TURNING OFF YOUR PRINTER AND SWITCH IT ON AGAIN.

C64 service problem

It's the waste ink pads need doing. However, it's a long time now without any help forthcoming on this problem. If you still have it, can you post a new comment and I will help you fix it at no cost. Otherwise let's call it solved!

Rollers etc not issue.... Head issue if using correct epson branded inks, 12month warranty take to epson dealer with proof of purchase.
