When i insert my cd in laptop it is getting rejected by my lap top and the message comes that PLEASC INSERT CD.now please help me it is very urgent.

Hi,
the reason can be many, any way follow these steps; - clean the cd (Scratches, scuffs, break in the disc; they can all cause the problem you described.) 1) Right click on "My Computer" and click "Properties"
2) Go to the "Hardware" tab and Click the "Device Manager" button.
3) Find "DVD/CD-ROM Drives" and click the + to drop down your installed devices
4) Find your device and Right click, then choose "uninstall"
5) Reboot
6) When you boot back up, Windows XP will recognize you have a hardware device that isn't configured
7) Follow the prompts to setup the device (You can connect to Windows Update to allow it to search for a driver
If the laptop is recognizing any cd then it might be the drive is damaged/broken and needs to be replaced.Hope these information helps,

Hello there:
On these laptops you will have to plug in the device and then shut down the laptop and restart it with the gps device still on so the computer will recognize the new device then it will install the needed drivers if necessary and also on some of the gps units you will need ot use a cd rom to set this up so if you do not have it you might have to get it fro mthe manufacture or the place that you got the gps from ok?

On most CD-DVD players you got a small hole to eject the disk when the rubber band is destroyed or not functioning.

Try to straighten a paper clip and insert it into the hole, about 2.5cm (1"), then it should release the tray so you can remove you CD.

CD stuck in laptop
There is a very small hole in the cd tray, left or right side of the eject button of the CD/DVD tray.... insert a very small needle or a hardwire of 2 inches length and the cd will automatically come out of the tray..
