Question about Brother CS-6000

What class bobbin?

I looked in the manual for the "bobbin class" for my rother CS-6000i, and instead found the size and the part code (7/16 inch, part code SA156.) The bobbins at the fabric store did not have the sizes or part codes, just the class number, and the store employees weren't knowledgable about sewing machines, and didn't have anywhere to look it up. (Jo-Ann Fabric- poor selection and lakadaisical customer service, I will not go back.) I feel silly even having to ask, but this is the first time I have had a Brother or any computerized machine, and there's alot I'm not familiar with.

The type of bobbin is, in fact, a Brother SA156. This is the only type of bobbin that will fit it, and there is no cross-reference. The Class 66 and Class 15 that you probably found at the fabric store will not be compatible.

The correct bobbins are readily available at any authorized Brother dealer, or online. They are actually a very common bobbin. I would recommend doing a web search for the nearest brother dealer to your location.

I found them (a pack of 10) on amazon . com for $4.76 + $5.02 postage. I also called my local brother dealer and they want $8.99 ... sorry small business, think I'll save on the gas and order online.

Why does my cs6000i the needle hits the bobbin case put nicks in case and then thread snags in the bad area

If you are talking about the bobbin case (housing), it may be inserted incorrectly. Remove it and put it in again, or the needle isn't seated correctly. Once the bobbin case is damaged, do not use it anymore or you will continue to have problems. If you mean the bobbin, change bobbins and see if you continue to have problems, as you might have the incorrect size.

F4 might mean that the bobbin on the top is in the position for rewind, slide bobbin to the right for the error code to go away. Hope this helps, Sandy

Yes, Brother has a free download, Go to this site:http://www.generalmanual.com/Home-Sewing-Embroidery-Machines/Brother-CS-6000i-Sewing-Machine.htm and you should have what you need. You also might have the bobbin pushed to the right, in the wind position. Is so, push bobbin to the left and all should be fine.

I keep getting error E6 on Brothers CS 6000i- I cleaned the thread several times and when I try to restart sewing it happens again. I've removed the bobbin and re-threaded and it keep jammin and beeping....

The motor locked up because the thread is tangled.
Solution:
Remove the tangled thread before continuing the operation.
Clean the bobbin case to remove the tangled thread.
After cleaning the bobbin case, insert the bobbin case properly.
If the needle is bent or broken, replace the needle.
Then, thread the upper thread properly, and continue the operation.

I just looked on ebay and there is a store that sells your bobbins, 25 for $13.99. You can google your machine bobbins, by entering "brother xl 5001 bobbins" and you will get the sites for them. You may find that a class 15 bobbin will work or a SA156. There are also sites that sell your manual, and of course, you can always call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 and complaint that they do not have your manual available for free to download.

Bobbin not winding. The machine is threaded properly. The machine makes a whirling noise that is associated with the bobbin being wound, but the bobbin is not moving. I bought generic bobbins at a...

Is the metal spool just spinning in the middle of the bobbin because the hole is not a tight fit? I would check my manual for the correct bobbin & then purchase using the specific part number (e.g. SA156). I found this number in the list of "included accessories" for my machine. There will be a part number besides the name.

What kind of thread are you trying to use? Is it a decent fresh thread? If, it is old, throw it out and buy some fresh quality thread. Usually, cheap thread is the problem.

My bobbin is so lose it won't stay in place so i bought a new case but is still too lose.

you have the wrong size bobbin, you probably need 15J or SA156. look in your owners manual or call Singer at 1-800-4singer. If you do not have your manual go to www.singerco.com and download a free one using their support tab.
