Removing under cabinet GE microwave

I have an old GE JVM130001 under cabinet microwave that no longer works. It was installed before I owned the home. I can't seem to figure out how to un-mount it so I can replace with a new one. It is flush up to the cabinet above it and a cabinet to the right. Myself and another person diligently inspected all the connecting cabinets and could find only one screw that seem to be connected to the microwave. We removed it and unplugged the electric cord. We have removed faceplates and any part we could to try to find other connecting screws. We have tried tugging and pulling all directions.  It doesn't budge. It is snug up to the cabinet on top of it and to its right. I literally cannot see how it is attached to the mounting plate. I am beginning to wonder if was installed with an industrial adhesive. Short of taking the cabinets down does anyone have any suggestions.  Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. We had already unlocked and pulled those long locking screws out. We had also loosen the only screw we found on top. I then used a long thin piece of metal and started working around the top to see if I could feel any other screws (nothing). I then started on the side and worked the metal piece up the side between the cabinet and microwave when I was almost at the end the microwave came loose.

    Thanks again for your reply.

Remove the face plate above the door. You will see two bolts where you can use a screwdriver to turn them (unlock them). Those bolts go all the way to the back of the microwave. Once you have turned them (you do not need to remove them), you will need to remove the one - three screws that come in from the cabinet above. You may have to jar it loose if it still stuck.

Can you provide under cabinet mounting instructions for GE Microwave part WX4-A19?

To mount it under a cabinet, you have to have the under cabinet install kit; you'll find that here: Under Cabinet Mounting Kit WX4 A019 GE Appliances the kit does include instructions. You can't mount it without the kit.

I want to replace an old microwave from 1988: GE Model# JVM130001. What microwave will fit in that space?

Laura, most any over the range microwave should fit that space. It may hang a little below your height but that should not be a problem.

I NEED A 24 IN. WIDE COUNTERTOP MICROWAVE TO BE INSTALLED UNDER A CABINET. NO VENT NEEDED. I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR A DRAWER TYPE UNIT. I CANT FIND AN INSTALLATION KIT TO INSTALL ONE. THE ONLY KIT I COULD...

Sharp has a model 1214 that could work, but it is a little over 15" deep and will therefore not recess entirely into a 12" deep upper cabinet. I believe the install kit comes with it?

GE Microwave Oven Installation

If the top of it butts aginst your cabinets you will have to take the bolts from the inside of your cabinets around the front area that that are holding it up out (use 2 people) once they are out it "should" still hang there, next step slowly lift it an inch or so (then you will be no longer on the back suppot) again use 2 people, then you can pull straight out. hope this is what you are looking for.

Removing an old old microwave oven

look in the cabinet above the microwave, there should be 2 bolts which go through the bottom of the cabinet and screw into the microwave. remove these 2 bolts holding the unit steady then tilt the unit down and away from the wall.

Gap between cabinet and top of microwave oven

eastlake...only if you think so. Most of these units use a submounting bracket set and then you hook your oven to it. This is a rather nasty installation...I've done several. If it's sturdy, you may just want to put in a filler piece.
