Re: Waht's 'unlimited consecutive shooting'?

This functionality allows unlimited consecutive shooting up to the capacity of the SD Memory Card in the camera—ideal for capturing fast-moving objects in high resolution. The number of shots may vary depending on memory card size, picture size, and compression.

Is it best to use A1 settings and what does it do

The only thing close to A1 on that camera is IA (Intelligent Automatic)

"This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. With both motion and still images, iA does the bothersome settings for you and makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images."

Basically, with this setting enabled you can just point and shoot and get a decent picture, but if you wanted to be more creative with your shots (adjusting exposure, depth of field etc) I'd suggest turning it off.

If you're a point-and-shoot kind of guy, keep it on.

How do i delete all video from my camera at once ? i have downloaded them all to an external hardrive, so I want all that memory freed up on the camera. doing it scene by scene will take forever

Hi there, it's pretty simple cannon just calls it initializing the drive rather then formatting the drive. The steps are as follows:
Hit the function Button on the LCD Scroll down to the icon of the Hard Drive Choose the option Initialize HDD Select YES and then YES again and you're done.
Happy shooting!

Too many files to handle

On the camcorder there is a function that allows you to create a play-list. This play-list group your recording into one file allowing for continuous playback (BUT... the original files cannot be deleted or the playlist will be deleted as well) burn a dvd from the playlist. Automatic grouping doesn't happen automatically on 20003-2008 JVC model camcorders. You would have to do this after you have finished you recordings. Another option is while using the software that comes with the camcorder this allows you to import what files you what to save and group it that way by the date. There is no need to edit if you don't want to.

White circles appear on the image. Why is that and what can I do?

When shooting with flash in a location where there are many suspended particles, such as in a dusty area or on a snowy day, the image may contain white circles as shown in the picture below. Why does this happen? If the flash fires when a suspended particle floats right in front of the lens, the reflection of the flash from the particle appears more intensely than that of the subject, as the particle is much closer to the lens than the subject. Therefore, the reflection of the flash turns out in the image and causes an effect such as that shown in the sample image above. The closer the lens and strobe are located, allowing suspended particles to be exposed to more light, the more frequently this effect can occur. How can I avoid this effect? Ideally, it is best to shoot in locations where there are very few suspended particles. If not, you can use following method to prevent this effect. a) Avoid using flash by lighting the area as much as possible. b) If your camera has a zoom function, shoot at a wide angle.
