The remote model number for the Quasar VV2008 is VSQS1570 and can be ordered from Panasonic at 1-800-221-7262 or Go to a Family Dollar store and purchase the grey RCA universal remote for $6.00 about 6 inches in length. When you are ready to program it for the Quasar VV2008 push the code search button then the VCR button and enter 0162 then push enter. The red light should go off and the remote should turn the TV/VCR off and on. It worked for me 4/19/2013
TV codes aren't set by the TV. They're set up by the remote control manufacturer, so the codes for your brand may vary with the remote. What you'll need to do is look at the instruction sheet for your control, or visit the manufacturer's website, to find the Quasar codes for your model of remote. You can also find out how to use the code search feature built into most remotes if you can't find a working code.
On the off chance your remote is a One-for-All 4, a very popular model, you can try codes 0051 and 0250. Good luck, and thanks for using Fixya!
A fairly common problem with these sets is that the connections to the IR receiver inside the set degrade. Quite often all that is required is a resoldering of the pins of the receiver. This is a 3 legegd part within a small metal box located near the fron of the TV. If you have no experience with TVs, do not attempt this. I would guess that a TV shop would be willing to resolder the pins on this for not much money. Call and ask. It might be a cheap fix for you. Cleaning the lens of the remote will have no effect.
that's the one of the closed caption options in the tv set. on your remote control there should be a button labeled "cctv", cycle through the options untill you find the off mode. this could also be in the tv menu.
some older tv's only go up to so many channels.you may not even need a remote to set up cable tv. if you are going to use a cable box on this tv, put the tv on channel 3.if not, look in front of the tv for a little door. behind it maybe knobs or buttons that can program the channels 1 at a time [+= add - = erase. there also maybe a switch for different cable types [hrc, std, etc]
hope this helps
Is there no buttons on the set to adjust the volume??? I've never seen a tv that didnt have at least under a door somewhere. Do you have an owners manual? You can get a universal remote to get this to work Good Luck!
