Hi cxbutah
I am pretty sure that you need to (reset the tv back to the Factory Settings) This is older TV so if it is not located on the menu
I try to find a small hole on the front or it might be located under the speaker grill cloth or even on the side or rear (NOT SURE WHERE)
But in any case keep the TV on and push and hold the button until your tv flashes or blinks a message then let go>

(plz feel free to rate my help) I am still trying to locate for on this issue. Thanks

Hi,

Initially, a few things you could try:

  • check that no buttons are stuck on the front panel controls;
  • do the same with the buttons of the remote. You could even try removing the batteries;
  • the square could probably also be PIP if this feature is available with your particular model;
  • verify that connection to source/input signal (cable and/or video in) is present.
All of the above are the easy user actions. Others that you could try are:
  • open the back of the unit to check for any loose connection with particular interest on the control panel, logic board and source/signal input boards.
  • the main board would generally have no possible issue but it may also be worth your while to check the same.
The above of course require a bit of familiarity with electronic components and circuitry and safe working practices.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back the brand and model number, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

    its the problem of weak ---ic--- or capacitor----in the power supply board.so the tv is comming in the ---ON--- position but not showing any pictures.its not the major problem.just a simple soldering is required on the loose connecting points in the power supply board.take it to the repair center.as it would not be too costly.do not try any thing strange without any specific technical knowledge.your tv is showing some fault but is not in any kind of worse condition.do not worry it will be perfectly ok.

    thanks.

My JVC model AV27330 has a constant blue screen. I can go thru Video 1, video 2, video 3 and then says chn 04 but should be 03 - when I push channel button down channel 105 shows or the other way channel...

You need to use the original remote and call up the customer menu; select auto program or channel program and see if reprogramming will help.

If no JVC remote you have only one other choice----connect a DVD or VCR to one of the video inputs and see if the set functions that way.

No channel 3, the tv goes from channel 2 to 4, can't use the cable box

Two options...

1. Connect the Cable Box via RCA cables (Yellow/Red/White) or Component cable if you have a HD cable box and select the appropriate input on the TV to view your programs. This will provide the best picture quality as well.

2. Make sure the cable box is on. Using the original TV remote type in the channel 03 and if this tunes to the channel then go to the TV menu and then go to Set up and then select add/erase and select add.

If typing 03 did not tune in channel 3 then using the TV remote select menu then go to set up and then make sure TV / Cable is set to cable then on the cable box press the channel button a couple of times and then select auto program on the tv.

Tv turns on and has sound but no picture. Only black screen, the menu from the cable or dvd cannot be seen.

Make sure your using a cable box that is compatible with a high def tv, if your tuning a high def channel and your converter does not support high def, it will only play the sound, no vidio at all.

I have an old, jvc 20 inch, c2010 model tv without the remote and I am unable to place channel on 4 so it will be compatible with my digital comcast cable box. Any suggestions?

I hope you are able to get into the menu with the front panel.

when you are in the menu you want to be able to make the auto-programing feature works. The cable box has to be already installed and working. when the tv programming crosses the channel 4 and there is a signal there, pretty sure is going to look it. This is the easiest.
The other solution is the menu sometimes allows you to make programming manual. in manual you are able to search channels one by one and allow it in the memory or not, basically then go to manual programming scroll up or down to find the channel four and use enter (sometimes right arrow in order to change the chanel number from red to green) to record in memory this channel. Once again I hope helps you.

I have a jvc tv model av27530. Disconnected cable box b/c going

You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.

If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.

Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.
