Tried to program cable, tv, and dvd by the codes but it would not work --- tried it with and without voice commands -- we also tried"training it with our original remote --- when voice commands were on it never performed the step where it saidpress the button on the remote you are learning from like it said it would in the manual --at one point it did claim to assign the cable box, but we were never able to get it to actually control it --- we also tried programming the F1-F4 buttons to see if that would work either and it did not --- not even sure if it is able to communicate ----- we tried everything listed in your manual and of course made sure that the inVoca was fully charged for more than 24hours and that the other remotes had new batteries

WhenI try to view a DVD R that I use for training it will not play it

If you normally use this DVD in a computer or laptop to view your training, that may be the problem. DVD players that are used to view movie DVDs must be "finalized" after recoding in order to be playable on non-PC type DVD players.

The Watch Me. The first command to teach your dog.

Watch Me

The Watch Me command is the first one we teach the dogs. Without the dog's attention, there is little training possible! This command will teach the dog to focus on us when we speak to him. It is also used to maintain his focus while we have him under command.

The first step in teaching this command is to get the dog to look at us - then we reward him for looking. It's that simple! When I say reward, at first give a small treat every time it is successful. Then mix the treats with "Good Girl" and slowly wean off the treats.

Try the following tips as you say, "Watch Me"...

 • Snap your fingers in front of his nose then draw your hand up towards your face.
 • With a treat in your hand, show the dog your hand and then draw your hand up to your face.
 • Use a happy voice.
 • High pitched voices are more interesting to a dog.
 • Make an interesting or unusual sound.
 • Remember that in dog training, timing is everything!

If you are even one second late with the reward, you will be teaching her to look away! By the end of the week, try to get the dog to watch you for about 10 or 15 seconds. And she need not look you in the eye - the point is that she is paying attention, that is all. Slowly increase the time the dog is required to look. After the first week, expect about a 20-30 second uninterrupted stare (less for puppies).

Then, add distractions. Have someone else make a noise off to the side of the dog tempting her to look away. If she does look away, refocus her. Eventually she will learn YOU have the treats and only YOU will be giving the reward.

After you have your dog responding to you and PAYING ATTENTION, you can easily move on to more common commands like Sit, Come, and Stay.

Use your voice to control almost anything on your computer

Almost all Windows PCs that have Vista or Windows 7 they come stock with a dictation program that will give you the ability to control your computer using voice commands. Now you can make your computer listen to you, when before you were just yelling at it and it wouldn't respond.

Start by launching the speech recognition from the control panel and ease of access. You might also need to set up the microphone on your computer, but once everything is all set up you are ready to go. You might want to look at teaching your computer to understand you especially if you have an accent. Doing a speech training session will make your computer understand you better and will make using it much more efficient.

Upon initial launch the program will say that it is sleeping, to get it up and running say "star listening" and it will change to be listening to you. Before you being to rely 100% on using voice commands start experimenting with what you can do and seeing how the computer understands your talking patterns. The main commands that you will use are: Start listening (wakes up the program), stop listening (puts it back to sleep), Open x (program name), Close that (closes current open window) and scroll up/down (also page up/down).

To select something on the screen you can tell the computer to select a link. If it has a hard time finding what you want to select you can always open up the mouse-grid by saying "mouse-grid" this will break up your screen into 9 squares and you will be able to narrow down to the grid square you want.

After you are comfortable with the stock commands you can take your hand as creating some of your own. Windows has a program called macro where you can assign all kinds of commands. From things like using a single word to launch a program or saying "insert address" if you write your address a lot. This is really useful for creating shortcuts to keystrokes that you use all the time. You can create a command that will preform the same action as hitting the key combination that you use all the time.

If ever you forget what the commands are you can always say "what can I say?" and the speech dictionary will open.

Using a speech recognition and dictation program like the one in windows will help you to learn to speak more clearly and slowly, but may make you a more efficient computer user.

How to eliminate error screen:"your tv does not allow display of this program through the dvi input source. please chose another tv input source."

"cable box to tv is hdmi cable"

Everything I've read on the web says cable box to tv connection must also use component (rgb) cables. The error is coming from the cable box (STB). All the Scientific Atlanta (SA) cable boxes seem have this Digital Rights Management (DRM) bug and the only way to be totally rid of the error is to replace the digital connection from box to the TV with an analog connection.

How to record a program you are watching on your cable satellite receiver.

Hello,

Most of the time we watch TV programs with our cable satellite receiver/decoder. And sometimes we would love to record these programs so that we can watch them again. You can learn how to record your TV program while you watching a TV program.

All you will be needing is a DVD recorder or VCR (Video cassette Recorder). It all depends on the one you prefer.

There are two methods of doing this connection. 1. is RF connection and the other is RCA. But I will start with the RF connection method;

This is how is works. Get a RF cord, check the back of your TV, you would see RF in, connect the RF into TV in, then connect the other part to RF Out at the back of the Cassette or DVD Recorder.

Turn the Cassette or DVD Recorder and the TV on. Go to Channel 1 or any channel on the TV, search the TV stations automatically or manually in order to get a display of the Cassette or DVD Recorder on the TV. To easily get the Cassette or DVD Recorder's station, play a movie on the Cassette or DVD Recorder while you search for the station. Once you see the display of the movie on your TV, you would easily know that that's the Cassette or DVD Recorder station.

Once you have gotten a display from the Cassette or DVD Recorder, save the channel on the TV.

Then get another RF cord, connect it to "RF out" at the back of the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver and the other part to "RF in" at the back of the Cassette or DVD Recorder.

Now with the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver turned on and the Cassette or DVD Recorder also turned on, press the Cassette or DVD Recorder's channel, you should find search. Scan for channel/stations on the Cassette or DVD Recorder just like you did on the TV and you will find a display of the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver showing on the TV via the Cassette or DVD Recorder. Note that on some Cassette or DVD Recorder, you will have to select "Source" to RF before you can get a display of the channel.

Now since the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver program is now showing via the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver, insert a black disc or cassette into the Recoder and press record. The Satellite/cable decoder/receiver programs showing on the TV via the player will be recorded and that would be all.

For some recorders that has internal hard drive, you can just press record without inserting a blank disc......

USING RCA CONNECTION METHOD.

You could also achieve this by using a RCA (yellow, red and white cord).

The connection procedure is the same with the RF explained above.

Connect the Recorder to the TV. That is, from "Video and audio Out" of the recorder to "video and audio in" of the TV accordingly. Press AV or source on the TV to confirm that there is a display from the recorder on the TV.

Now connect the RCA cord to "OUT" from the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver to "IN" at the back of the Recorder.

Then, press source on the recorder to "INPUT" (RCA) and the Satellite/cable decoder/receiver's program will automatically display on the TV.

While the Program is being displayed on the TV via the recoder, insert a blank disc and press record on the player and it will automatically start recording. You will see the record or record symbol while the recoding is in progress.

I hope you understand the above. Please follow steps closely and you won't have any problems.

Good luck.

Curtis Mathes TV Remote Control Codes for Programming the remote to the TV

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Curtis Mathes TV (without a built-in DVD or VCR) is one of the following numbers: 0030, 0047, 0054, 0060, 0093, 0145, 0154, 0166, 0451, 0702. I can not guarantee these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
