My frigidaire dehumidifier isn't not dehumidifying .is the warranty still good

Good Morning Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# LAD704TDL, is not dehumidifying. I also see that it is blowing hot air, no water is coming out of the hose, and the humidity stays at 80%. I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly, to see if your appliance is in warranty, and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My dehumidier blows very hot air while working. Makes it hotter than it was before starting. Like a furnace.

It is normal for a dehumidifier to discharge warm air. A dehumidifier is really an air conditioner - a fan blows humid room air across a cold fin coil that causes the moisture to condense on it and drip into a container - thus cooling AND dehumidifying the air. The cool air is blown over the warm coil and discharged out the back. A dehumidifier WILL normally increase the temperature of the room it is in.
You can do the same thing with sitting an A/C unit on a stool in a room. Room air will be drawn in, cold air will come out the front, hot air out the back and water will drip on the floor. And, the room will get hotter, due to what is called "heat of compression" even though you're running an A/C unit.

Have classic dehumidifier model#CDR4500E. Can't adjust it automaticaly to come on or shut off. Don't understand the keypad fuctions, booklet to confusing.

Your dehumidifier preset default humidity level of 70%. Which is rather high, if you're using the unit in the hot Summer months. You can override this setting and lower the humidity level in increments to as low as 35%. Which is ideal during hot, humid weather. The Air Down button lowers the humidity level.Once the level is set, the unit will cycle ON and OFF as necessary, to maintain the level of humidity.

I have looked at the Owners Manual for you unit, and it's very thorough. But, I can understand, if you're not familiar with how the units work, it could be confusing. Page 5, is very informative on how to operate the unit, as far as setting humidity levels, which is what's important. If the operation of the unit continues to be a problem for you, contact Danby Customer Support 1-800-263-2629 and they can walk you through the procedures, while on the phone with them.

Hop this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

The dehumidifier is blow cold air

Is it collecting water? The air coming out the back top half should be cool/warm. It will be a little warmer at the bottom near the compressor.

Dehumidifier

Again, if your model is one that can be used in cooler temps so as not to ice up, the heat prevents this.
