This indicates that the cmos battery is dead and needs replaced. The cmos is located under the main battery, it's in a yellow or greenish pouch with two wires leading to a connector. You'll have to remove the keyboard in order to get to the connector. Replacing the cmos will correct the time and date problem, if it doesn't fix the battery problem, you may need to go to IBM's support site and download the power management driver.

When i shut off computer, time and date reverts to 2003 , new battery etc when turned back on msi ms 7235 ver 1.1

There is not a lot of info, but I'm gonna go with the choice of a laptop, since you say "new battery". There is also another battery in the motherboard, also, you need to set the date from within the BIOS, if you don't set it from the BIOS it will always revert back to the date of manufacture.

Date and time wrong on start up

This indicates the BIOS battery is flat and therefore cannot store the correct date and time in the BIOS. You need to install a new BIOS battery and then go into the BIOS setup to set the Date & Time.

I have the same problem! My WR 200 is always setting the year to 2016, which then fouls up the date. I don't have a solution.

Batterie

Your internal CMOS battery(button battery) needs to be replaced. That keeps your date & time always working. Therefore when your main Battery runs out and external power is not present the date and time goes back to the date of manufacture.....sodeep

Clock always reset to default upon power up

Either the replacement battery was dead or the camera needs to be serviced. If the date/time needs to be reset every time the camera powers up, the camera is not receiving the power it needs from the date battery.

Doesn't hold the current date when turned off

There is a battery on the motherboard, next to the power supply connector, which may be bad or not connected securely.  That's the first place I'd look, although it should produce other symptoms, especially inability to 'remember' other setting, such as channel memory.
