Question about RCA 3-Device Universal Remote with Dedicated DVD Menu Key

1 Answer

Won't turn on or off.

We have programmed the component RCR4358 and RCR312W for the Sanyo DVD player. It will play, ff, rew, pause, etc, it will just not turn the dvd player on or off. Can you help? What did I do wrong? Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

RCR4358 I can't program my t.v. -- the instructions that come with the remote are ridiculous for an 83 year old woman who has still got her "buttons." Do you actually have some simple instructions? Thanks...

  1. Step 1 Turn on the component you want to program.
  2. Step 2 Press and release the component button on your remote that corresponds to the component you want the remote to operate (TV, VCR, etc.). The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn on and remain on.
  3. Step 3 Press both the component and the ON-OFF buttons. The illuminated ON-OFF button will turn off, and then will come back on.
  4. Step 4 Release both buttons after the ON-OFF button turns back on. The button should remain illuminated.
  5. Step 5 Press and release the PLAY button. If the component does not respond after five seconds, continue to press the PLAY button every five seconds until the component turns off.
  6. Step 6 Press and release the REVERSE button when the component turns off, then wait to see if the component turns on again.
  7. Step 7 Press and release the STOP button to save the new code.

Remote RCR312W for panosonic TV quit working what do I do

I found this at:

http://www.wikihow.com/Program-an-RCA-RCR312W-Remote

It is stated that it was obtained from the RCA Website - but I could not find anything other than a picture of the remote there.

1) Turn on the component (the tv, dvd, etc).

2) Hold the TV (or DVD) button and the on/off button at the same time. It will stay lit.

3) Press the play button every five seconds until the component turns off. Each time the Play button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks ten times and a block of 10 codes is sent to your component. This process continues until all the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If the component has not turned off after all codes have been searched, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks four times, turns off, and the Auto Code Search Entry method is exited.

4) When the component turns off, press and release the REVERSE button, then wait two seconds to see if the component turns on again.

5) If the component does not respond, continue to press the REVERSE button EVERY TWO SECONDS UNTIL THE COMPONENT TURNS ON again. This will isolate the correct code in the last block of codes sent. Each time the REVERSE button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks. If the REVERSE button is accidentally pressed after the component responds, press and release the FORWARD button. Wait two seconds to see if the component turns off again.

6) To save the new code, press and release the STOP button.

7) The illuminated ON-OFF button turns off. You must press the STOP button to save the code.

  1. These instructions come from the RCA website. The crucial step is to keep pressing the reverse button.
  2. Turn on the component (the tv, dvd, etc).
  3. Hold the TV (or DVD) button and the on/off button at the same time. It will stay lit.
  4. Press the play button every five seconds until the component turns off.
    • Each time the Play button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks ten times and a block of 10 codes is sent to your component. This process continues until all the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If the component has not turned off after all codes have been searched, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks four times, turns off, and the Auto Code Search Entry method is exited.
  5. When the component turns off, press and release the REVERSE button, then wait two seconds to see if the component turns on again.
  6. If the component does not respond, continue to press the REVERSE button EVERY TWO SECONDS UNTIL THE COMPONENT TURNS ON again. This will isolate the correct code in the last block of codes sent. Each time the REVERSE button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks.
    • If the REVERSE button is accidentally pressed after the component responds, press and release the FORWARD button. Wait two seconds to see if the component turns off again.
  7. To save the new code, press and release the STOP button.
  8. The illuminated ON-OFF button turns off. You must press the STOP button to save the code.

I have the philiphs

Here you go.
The remote may not turn the DVD player on and off. Try the codes one by one, with the unit playing a disk. Then try the FF/Rew to see if it is the correct code. Worked for me after all else failed......frustrating huh?
