I bought this mivrowave oven in 2001 and it never worked properly. It has always been difficult to start the heating. I need ot push a random number of times before it start. Same for stopping it... To me this is a problem due to the design of the touch pad. Do other users of this model experienced the same problem?

I have the same problem with my M625EG-ed from about the same period. My repairman said that it would be at least 300 € for a new unit. I opened it myself and cleaned the keypad with alcohol or aceton. It's not working perfect afterwards but it is better.
There's a fuse you have to take out when opening. Otherwise you can have problems with electricity (be carefull). The fuse I had, broke down and I had to buy a new one for 20 eurocents. Also watch out with the parts where the door closes. I had some problems with that too and now (after a few months), I had to buy a new connector part on the door (its the part of the door that closes the door and gives connection for the lights). This costed 12-13 € but I'm trying to install it now.

Hi andymahj. I've the same problem. Same oven also bought in same year (2001). The start button is severl years now that is not working properly but now I have push so hard and so many times that I fear I'm going to break the whole keypad. From what you wrote it seems that you have managed to open the keypad without taking the whole oven out of the nest/furniture (which I'd really hate to). Is it so? Would you be so kind to share some hint on how to proceed to open the keypad part? Thanks

Thank you very much yor your kind reply. I have tried to open the unit myself as well but gave up due to the complexity of the overall operation. So I put it back again in its nest and I am still using it with the defect right now...
Was it easy to open the unit? Where did you get instructions to do that? Is this something you can share with me?
Note that I must say that I am not so keen to repair it since apparently even cleaning it with alcohol did not address this problem entirely for you. It looks like I was right in saying it's a design problem, not one due to intensive use...
