Re: Casio E-125

Blinking amber light means the battery is not fully recharged. Once it is charged, press the power button. If the the device still does not turn on take out the main battery and the backup battery. Put the main battery in first, then the backup battery and put the battery switch in the lock position. Press the power button and you should see initializing memory..., then starting..., then it will ask you to set up the device.

Cassiopeia Commited Suicide

There is reset and hard reset on many units, did you do both. You might try pulling the battery out for an hour or two and try it. Other than that open the back and look for dead bugs :-) actually not much you can do inside unless you have a parts source and Casio units are kind of like without parts - I emailed for some two weeks ago and never did hear from them - which is normal - it has happened numerous times before on other subjects including parts.

E-125 No Power

are you checking your adapter. i had the same problem with my casseopeia e115. i searched and searched for the battery which even casio doesn't offer anymore. i bought a battery pack which works great w 4 AA batteries but it's bulky and you lose data when you turn off the batteries. i finally went on to discover that my charger/adapter that plugs into the e115 and the serial cradle was scorched by a lightening strike and it was not charging and eventually the batteries DIED!!! I took the adapter to an electronics repair store and for $15.00 they rewired the adapter and it works!!!! it charged the batteries and worked fine.(altho i have to visit them again because i think one of the new wires is bent and i have to position it perfectly to keep charging.) BTW: any one looking for a new casio battery jk210lt...i have a couple to sell! ;-) hope this helps

My E-125 isn't working properly...

If your craddle has DC power input that charges the PDA while in craddle, try setting the power configuration so that when the PDA is on external power, there is no blank screen timeout, and no automatic shutdown (it's in the Settings menu). This way, it won't power down while in craddle, and you won't get this problem you're having.

CASIO E-125 no backlit

Usually the ribbon cable connection that powers the backlight is the problem. If you remove the four screws in the back and take off the back cover. (note that there are two tabs on both sides of the cover half way up)You can see the white ribbon cable on the left above the battery back housing. Gently wiggle it and see if the backlight goes on. The cable is attached with a small brown insert that holds it in. It is removable so you might be able to get an electronics shop to replace the cable connection or the cable itself.

E-125 connecting to Siemens ME 45

There are 2 things you could try. If you have a serial data cable for both the devices try using a nul modem (Casio part # SB-91 includes best nul modem ever made ) & select Hayes compatible on serial port on E-125. If you have a built in modem in ME-45 it should work. Similarly you could use MS Outlook as an intermediary for transferring your E-125 telephone numbers to ME-45.

Casio pocket pc calendar doesn't show appointments that were syncronized from outlook: If I sync with outlook, the appointments I add on the Casio E-125 show in outlook, but the ones I add in outlook...

The Menu: VIEW - Categories option at the bottom, has all categories checked off. However, the logic dictates that it will only show the categories checked off, and if any appointment (appointments being made in outlook are not categorized) with no category would not show in the pocket pc. The logic written into the software, is, if no categories are checked off, then it will show ALL appointments. It would be nice if there was an option in the category view menu to SHOW ALL, but there isn't. You just have to uncheck all the categories.

E-125 Owners BEWARE!

Unless a Casio technician has looked at it don't take Casio's word for it. There is an inverter PCB which converts the DC to high frequency AC for the fluorescent back light. lamp. This is available & can be repaired / replaced. There is also an issue with the E-125 backlighting which simply requires resoldering of a connector on the main pcb. Then there is the fluorescent lamp itself which can go bad & may be replaced. So DO take your device to a well equipped competent technician to look for the precise problem.

E-125 Turns off and won't turn on

This is what I suggest: Get yourself a new backup battery. First backup your Casio. Then install the main battery. Plug the Casio in and recharge overnight. Once recharged, install the new backup battery. Make sure you do not touch the battery with your hands. Use a tissue. This should solve your problem if the Casio is not physically damaged.
