  • Test the timer motor
  • Test the heating element
  • Test the thermostat
  • The timer motor regulates the length of time power is routed to each component. If the timer motor does not function properly, it can result in a wide range of problems. Common symptoms include sticking in a cycle, cycle times running too long, or failure of the dishwasher to start at all.
To service the timer motor, it is necessary to access the control panel in the door. Access varies by model; on some models you can remove just the control panel on others you must remove the interior or exterior panel of the door.
  • The heating element is used to heat the water and/or dry the dishes. If it does not function properly it can result in unsatisfactory cleansing of the dishes or the failure of a cycle to complete properly.

First, open the door and look into the tub and locate the heating element (if it is covered, remove the lower dish rack and cover). The heating element has two terminals which extend through the bottom of the tub, note the general location where they go through.
To access the heating element's wiring, remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel.
Look into the lower access area and locate where the terminals come through the tub. Each terminal has a wire connected to it. Label the wires and the terminals so that they can be properly reconnected. Pull the wire off of each terminal; they are connected with a slip on connector. Firmly pull the connector, do not pull on the wire. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers. Inspect the connector and terminal for corrosion. If either is corroded they should

I have a whirlpool gu2400 dishwasher. The spring loaded soap dispenser door does not open during the wash cycle to release the soap.

Whirlpool dishwashers use a wax motor or a solinoid to release the door at a specific time during the cycle. So for proper cleaning the soap cup is nessesary . The part isn't that expensive and fairly simple repair.

Dishwasher soap is not dissolving.

Hello,
Try emptying the dishwasher and putting a few tablespoons of vegatable oil in the bottom. Run the cycle without soap and no dishs. Often dish soap (palmolive) builds up and creates soap suds that won't go away during a normal cycle. The oil binds with the soap residue to get rid of it. It worked for my Kenmore. I know do it every few months. Good Luck!!!
Thanks

Hi - my washer keeps displaying the f35 code and stops - i then cant unlock or cancel i have to unplug it - seems as though there are no repairman who know what this is - can you tell me what i should do...

themobilian_2267.jpg
The F-35 on some models means:
ANALOG PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE
If this failure is displayed, there is any malfunction of the steamer
component detected by the Steamer Electronic Board.

Possible Causes/Procedure
Check if pressure hose is fixed correctly.
Check if the airtrap is not blocked.
Check if the hose is not blocked.

Make sure you are ONLY using HE SOAP!
Correct usage amounts are as follows:

Regular HE SOAP = 2 Tablespoons
2X HE SOAP = 1 Tablespoon
3X HE SOAP = 1 Teaspoon

The information on the soap usage comes directly from Whirlpool Tech Line.

SUDS LOCK (OVERDOSE OF DETERGENT DETECTED DURING THE
WASH CYCLE)

If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain
or spin phases, the washer will fi ll 4 liters of water and during 5 minutes
the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try
to spin or drain again.

Possible Causes/Procedure

If too much detergent was used:
Run through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch,
and Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
Plug in washer or reconnect power.
Check drain pump.
Check the pressure switch.
Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle.

Hi, My washer does not do the final spin.....Everything else seems to work except the final fast spin. Is there anything i can do?

Stop using so much soap? These newer washer must use a slight amount of HE soap. Any other thing will cause motor over amping, burn up sensors, and cause the control to work overtime trying to remedy the problem. F35

Frigidaire affinity washing machine pause error Same issue

Because our machine was new and covered under warranty, we had a maintenance person come out three times for this issue, but the only solution he could provide was to use less soap. Apparently, too much soap disrupts a sensor. So, if you let the machine run without adding any more soap, it will (theoretically) fix the problem. And this solution did work, to a certain extent.
Even though I started using much less soap, the problem is still persisting. For awhile, I was successfully able to fix it by running a few cycles without soap. Now, however, it just won’t work. Maybe others will have more success with this solution than we did.
At this point, the washer is no longer cover under warranty and our best solution is to buy anything but a Frigidaire or related Electrolux product.

Washer quits during cycle

That is a SUDS LOCK. Open the front panel to access the drain pump filter. Clean it out. Run several cycles without any detergent to clear out the soap being retained in the washer. If you are not using H.E. soap, switch to it. Use the amount of detergent specified on the package. Front load machines will not work correctly with excessive soap and the laundry gets no cleaner with more soap. Also use high water levels not medium or low. Use hot water whenever possible to reduce the suds residue.

Soap packets don't melt/disolve

sounds as if you amy have a problem with the dispensor door not opening correctly perhaps opening at end of cycle when all water is already released.Ive seen that sometimes the "tabs" or "packets of detegent are too tall and interfere with normal opening of the latch mechanism. manufacture would reccommend using powder instead.
