Question about Casio Cassiopeia E-100 Pocket PC

E-100 AC adaptor faulty??

Bought my E-100 used about a week ago and the unit charged up fine (Green LED on while charging). @ days ago I plugged it in to charge and no Green LED. Thought maybe the LED itself died but the unit WASN'T charging and finally wouldn't go on at all. I'm taking the AC adaptor in tomorrow to see if it's what's broken. If it isn't, I read some posts that talked about jiggling the battery lock. (I've tried that, no dice). Is this a common problem with these units? If so, is it fixable? Lee

Re: E-100 AC adaptor faulty??

It may be your main battery is dead. I had the same problems and had to replace the main battery and everything worked fine!

My PALM Centro will not charge i have it plugged in via USB my AC charger quit working months ago and i threw it away. Therefore i have it plugged in via USB and the LED at the top it green but barley on...

Hello salvidor72,
It's more effective to use a charger than the usb adapter. The wirelessemporium.com web site has a nice deal on a Palm Centro PDA Phone Home/Travel Charger:

You may also do a google search for palm centro charger. I hope this helps.
Have a great day, martyshaw152

My Sony PRS600 does not fully charge. I had it

First, confirm whether you're using the AC-S5220EAC Adaptor to charge the Reader, as it's always recommended to use that one with the Sony Reader. However, you may also keep connected the Reader to the Computer for at least 4 hours to get it fully charged. If the issue still persist, perform a soft reset. To soft reset, please press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object. Then, try charging it. That should resolve the issue.

Blackberry pearl wont switch on

It looks battery completly drained and dead (as It took so much time), the best way first to check "Circuit" status in Battery through Voltmeter (poles)..or another way go to any cell phone shop and give a trial with another batterty to check status of your unit.

IPaq rx3115 working like PC not Pocket PC, need to plugin always

You need to purchase a new removable battery for your RX
The removable batts usually only last about a year (like cell phone batteries).
Although it is showing 100% charge, the battery is not storing enough power to run the ipaq

The rx series uses 2 batteries, one is the removable one u can see/access when u remove the back cover. The other batt is a small round batt which stores the basic info for your system (so you don't lose your data when u swap out the removable battery).

This small (backup) batt is similar to the cmos battery on a laptop or pc.
You cannot easily replace this, as the unit needs to be disassembled to access this batt.
If you are tech-y (and brave), the replacement button batteries are sold on ebay for $9-12

Normally, if your removable batt is bad, you could still use your unit plugged in, and could
remove from AC power without losing data. Not the case if your replaceable batt is exhausted.
When both batteries are bad, you lose everything when u remove unit from AC power.

My workaround without having to disassemble unit:
Purchase and fully charge new removable batt (They have huge capacity ones available for like $15 - better than the original !).
Load up all your programs & settings the way you like.
Perform full backup to SD card (& also on PC via active sync - to be safe)
Now the only time you should lose your data (like hard reset) is if you allow the battery
to completely drain, in which case you can restore your backup.
If you purchase 2 removable batts, you can easily swapout without losing data if you
use the usb charge cable & leave ipaq plugged in while you change battery

Hope this helps

Zire72's on the fritz!

Plug the ac wall adapter to charge the PDA and leave it there.

When the PDA exhausted the battery charge, it needs minimum 30 minutes to charge to the minimum level to have the PDA powering on.

Once it powers on, leave it charging the battery until is fully charged (3-4 hours).

Best regards,

How to correct iPAQ 5450, 5455, 5550, 5555 battery charging problems / dead unit syndrome.

The iPAQ 54xx or 55xx will not power on if the batteries charge is lower than 3.2 Volts, if your battery charge falls below the 3.2 volts level your unit will not turn on, you need to plug the iPAQ into a cradle or AC charge adaptor. Note the charging light on the iPAQ will not flash at all (normally flashes orange) until the battery charge has reached a minimum charge level of 3.2 volts. You then need to perform a normal reset, then the unit should switch on normally.

HP Procedure is as follows:

To charge and reset the iPAQ Pocket PC h5400:

i) Connect the iPAQ Pocket PC h5400 to an A/C power supply.
ii) Charge the battery to the minimum level of 3.2 Volts. This will take 5 to 30 minutes depending on the current charge level.
iii) Perform a normal reset.
iv) Power on the iPAQ Pocket PC h5400

It is recommended that you keep the iPAQ Pocket PC connected to the Universal Cradle or Cable when it is not in use.

Battery Charge - First Use

My experience was similar to yours. The LED turned green after about only 2 hours. Because I didn't want to stay up until midnight to start playing with my Axim, I took it out of the cradle after the 2 hours and everything was fine. Besides, having downloaded and read the user's guide 2 days before receving my Axim, I knew that a green LED meant it was ready to go. 3 days later, everything is still fine and seems normal. A year ago, I received a Palm with similar initial charging requirements, and it also didn't take as long as the directions said it would.
