Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

You sent me 2 smart cards to replace my old ones. When we looked we didn't have any smart cards in the receiver, there was just a spot for one so we went through the instructions and put them in. Now I keep getting a notice that I haven't installed them. Any advice.

The question is not about the TV...which by the way is not the one listed. The one I have is over 10 yr old...I didn't see a listing for the one I have. My question is more general...what is the

A few answers: A home receiver can be a unit the signal and speakers and other units are all centrally connected to and the unit routes them to the set.

A strictly audio receiver processes sound and many of them have a amplifier either built in or external to boost audio to external speakers----Stereo units are one type and home receivers are another type.

Purchased 73 mitsubishi hdtv diamond series 1080 used....some ch are crystal clear while others just 2 or3 have white or colored spots. i dont have a cable box or any receivers, boxes hooked up to...

First: an old adage with TV sets of all kinds is the set is not smart enough to know what channel you are on---problems only on a few channels usually are not the set.

The only place where this is not the case is a group of several adjacent channels like 2-6 having this could mean a problem with the low band in the set's tuner--a bad tuner.

Most of these large Mitsubishi sets have PIP or picture in picture--the remote will have a swap button--engage it and see if the PIP has the same issue----if not the set uses 2 tuners and one is bad.

A cable box would allow you to instantly get around that by going into the rear audio/video jacks.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

You really need to be persistent. I went on the Panasonic customer support webseite and started a web exchange. The first two attempts ended with "call your local authorized service tech" , etc. The third time, I described the prolem again and asked if the authorized tech would have the tool to fix the eprom if that was the cause of the problem. They finally gave me a name for their scheduling department and said they would pay for the diagnosis. I was pretty happy about that, but even happier when they said that this was a known problem and they would pay for the repair as well. They scheduled a service call. The techs came and fixed the eprom error with their tool within 1/2 hour. That was about 5 weeks ago, and all looks good so far.

Light green and pink spots on my hd tv!!!

Hi--Bought my panasonic pt-52lcx65 on sale for $2200 in 8/05. Replaced the lamp for about $300 in 1/08, just prior to Superbowl. Admittedly, this was to be expected after family members watched lots of tv over 30 months. However, two months later the blue spot emerged in 3/08, and red spot emerged 5/08. Set looks decorated by a Andy Warhol or Van Gogh wannabe. I'm looking for a fix it solution. Dr. Bob Heiliger, Lebanon, OH.

Green spot / glow in center left side of Panasonic PT-61LCX65 LCD Projection HDTV

This unit has a chonic issue with corruption in the eeprom that causes spots and shadows. The correction is to find some service center that has the jig to hook up to your unit and correct the eeprom. This is an extended warranty issue with Panasonic and if you contact them they should be able to refer you a qualifed service center and Panasonic will pay.

6 blinks is most likely thermal fuse failure. parts should be available through sony. thermal fuse is a 2 pin device under the lamp cartridge(looking from back) metal oblong looking peice that is screwed into the bottom of the tv. the new thermal fuse sent from sony will look completly different and as long as you cut the wires on the old one you can leave it in the tv and position the new fuse around the old one.
