HI>> This problem started a few days ago. When I turn on the computer, it does not show the logging page, instead a screen comes up saying that REAL TIME CLOCK batteries are low or ONBOARD BATTERY and I have to replace them. Can I go on using the computer like this or will it eventually crash? I keep setting the time and clock , as it is back to 80's...Even if I get the batteries, how am I going to replace them? Hello,
Your PC should not crash from this issue. Your PC motherboard has a small (usually watch size) battery on it that provides power for the clock, and basic I/O settings, such as boot options, disk drives etc... The battery is pretty easy to replace, just open the case and you will see the battery held in a little socket. Make sure to turn PC off and properly ground yourself by using a static wrist band or leaning one arm over the power supply while taking the battery out. Take the battery and go to your local RadioShack, The Source, London Drugs etc.. and show them the battery. It should be a pretty common battery such as a CR2032 or CR2025 etc..
Once you replace the battery go into the BIOS by pressing F2, ESC, or DEL (which ever command shows on your screen for Bios Setup, System setup etc).. Change the clock to read the current time and exit, saving changes. You should not get this error for a long time as these batteries last much like a watch would.
If you don't change the battery, it won't crash your PC, but will eventually annoy you enough to replace it :)
Regards, Chris

Thanks so much...It has been a relief. I just don't turn off the computer switch anymore and it has been OK so far...I am not sure if I could change the batteries myself.

Hi. Try this steps . 1. Shutdown your computer . 2. Turn it back on then immediately TAP on the F8 button for Couple of times until there would be an option that will come up like SAFE MODE /SAFE MODE with Networking etc... 3. Now if that option is available on your screen select > SAFE MODE highlight it using up and down arrow key on your keyboard once highlighted Hit ENTER then it will show you bunch of words like drivers etc.. Wait for that until it will show you your log in if you have username and password put that in. 4. If it successfully boot up in that option you can now perform System Restore > It is an option where you can revert back the setting of the computer to it's specific date. Steps for this is Go to Start Button> All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Click on system tools it will show you there lot of option , Look for the System Restore and click on it > Once you click on that it will show you 2 options 1. Recommended Restore 2. Choose different restore point > Select number 2 option > Look for the previous specific date around 1 week ago by clicking on the "show more than 5days ago on the bottom left of the screen . Select the date where you think your computer is running fine. Then hit next After that it will initiate the restore and will restart your computer. If this is for update problem it should work. Hope this will help you . Good Luck :)

When I go to log on to my laptop. The user profile service service failed the log on.user profile cannot be loaded. what can I do to fix this?

Hi,

Follow these steps:

>Turn the computer off.
>Turn it back on and keep on tapping F8.
>Advance Boot Menu will come up.
>Using the up/down arrow keys select Safe Mode.
>Hit Enter.
>It will load windows and it takes a few moment.
>You will be asked to logon with your password.
>Type your password and wait for windows to load everything up.
>Now, click on Start.
>Type System Restore on the Start Search bar.
>Hit Enter.
>On the System Restore window, Hit Next
>Select a date from the Restore Points saved.
>Select the date when you know the computer was working fine. (maybe 3-5 days will do)
>Then click on Finish or Continue or Next.
>Your computer will restart.
>Don't do anything with it, wait for it to load everything back.
>If it prompts you to login with your password, type the password in.
>It should accept your password and windows should load normally.

That's it! It's not your fault. It happens once in a while especially if a windows update is not compatible or has not completed successfully. We can't prevent this from happening but rest assured that next time it happens, you know what to do. This happens, let's say once or twice in the life of a computer. Have fun! Thank you for choosing FixYa!

You have to log in to windows to fix this problem by borrowing a wired keyboard to enter your password. After log on go to Start-> all programs -> accessories -> system tools -> system restore and restore your computer to 3-4 days ago when it worked ok.

I can get into my facebook page but can no get into any games says error on page electricty went off for about 1 hr due to stormy weather

You can try to use system restore and restore it to yesterday or a few days ago when it was working. For XP go to Start->all programs->accesories->system tools-> system restore. For vista, just click on the start button and then search for "system restore". Select a date and see what happens.

I have temporary password but i can not log in. Couple days ago i logged in but now i have problem

Hi,

What you can do is turn the computer off and then when you turn the computer on or as soon as you press the power button to turn the computer on start tapping the F8 key repeatedly until you get a black screen that says advance boot menu option .Then used the arrow keys on the keyboard, highlite the option that says safe mode and then hit enter, select the operating system and then when you get the log on screen select administrator .If it takes you to the desktop then go to start?control panel?user accounts11?select ur account and then click on the option that says delete password.Once it is done restart the computer it should take you to the desktop without you putting in the password.

You can also try this :
  1. Click Start and Run
  2. Type "Control Userpasswords2" and press enter.
  3. Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
  4. Click Apply and Ok.

all the best...
