Question about Canon imageRUNNER 3300 All-In-One Laser Printer

Printer keeps pausing itself!!

I finally got the UI to work, but every time I try to print the ir3300 pauses itself. I click "resume" and the queue pauses. I resume the queue and the printer pauses.

Printer apparently requires a "printer" board. Although it has an ethernet connection, an IP address, I can ping, and the remote UI works just fine; actual printing over the network apparently requires additional hardware.

Dev_24ind: The parallel port cannot be used for printing by default. Heaps of people have made this mistake. You need a N Boot Rom installed and N system software. Almost certainly you don't.
Get a Network Multi PDL Printer Kit C1 for IR3300 (contains N Boot Rom and NIC aka ethernet port). A technician can install this and update system software and you will be able to print. You will be able to print over a network (which is the preffered option) use Remote User Interface and Pull Scan using Canon Network ScanGear (google it).

PESysMan you do not require a printer board. Whoever told you this is wrong. You need a NIC (preferably as printing over network is better than over parallel) a N Boot Rom installed and the copier to be upgraded to N firmware. Sounds like your copier has not been upgrade properly.

Go into service mode (Additional Functions > 2,8 > Additional Functions). Go to Copier > Display > Version. BOOT-ROM should have a N at the end. If it didn't you probably would be getting an error when trying to use the copier. PS/PCL is probably blank. If it is, it means that the firmware for printing has not been loaded onto the copier. Get a technician to come out and reload N firmware.

Hi,

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue

When you start a print job, you will see your printer icon appear in your Dock. Click the Printer icon to open the print queue, which is a list of print jobs that are printing, on hold, or paused. The print queue will also display messages sent from the printer.
You can alternatively open the print queue from the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences.

From the Print Queue menu bar, the "Printer" menu has these additional options:

I'm unable to delete a job from the queue. And therefore, I'm unable to print anything else. Any ideas of what to do? Thank you!

Open the print Queue, click the print job that is hanging and then from the menu, I believe under file, click pause. Once it is paused tried to delete the print job.

HOW WILL I UNPAUSED MY PRINTER?

There should be a printer icon in the notification area. You can double-click on that to bring up the printer status. If the icon is not there, you can go to Start -> Control Panel -> Printers and double-click on your printer. The first item in the print queue should be listed as paused. Right-clock on it and select Resume from the context menu.

By UI do you mean RUI (Remote User Interface)? Have you installed a network kit? If so did you upgrade firmware using SST? If not, you need to do this or printing won't work.

In service mode. Copier > Display > Version > PS/PCL there needs to be a number e.g. 30.06. If there is no number the copier does not have any print drivers on it and won't be able to print. You also need to have a N BOOT-ROM (included in network kit). There Should be a N next to the number for BOOT-ROM under Copier > Display > Version if a N BOOT-ROM is installed.

Pausing printer

Try enlarging your "Printer Buffer" if you can.. OR maybe you need to set your Parallel Port to a differsnt mode in the BIOS. And/Or try updating your "Drivers" see if this all helps.
