Linksys WCF11 and Casio E-15

Hi, can you tell me more about having the Linksys WCF11 wireless lan adapter work with a Casio PDA. I have an E-15 PDA and I get an error message when installing the WCF11 software. It says that the adapter will not work with my PDA and it refuses to launch the install process on the PDA. My E-15 runs a standard CE 2.11 without anything particular. Can you please help me, Thanks!

I believe that the right card for your pda is the D-Link. They have the appropriate drivers for WinCE 2.11 , but check Linksys' website for more info. You might have the wrong setup disk.

Well - if your PDA runs CE 2.11, it should install. Try downloading specific CAB file from Linksys's website for the MIPS processor (E-15 uses VR4111). If you have Linksys WCF11 card, go to http://linksys.com/support/support.asp?spid=71 If setup still doesn't work - copy a MIPS CAB file to your Casio via ActiveSync and run it from there. However, even after you install it - you might face problems. I still wasn't able to run my Linksys WCF11 on Casio E-100. Apparently, there is no easy way to specify IP settings (gateway, WINS, DNS) in Windows CE 2.11 for Linksys (unlike PocketPC OS, where we have network settings in control panel). I tried playing with registry - however, it messes up big time.

Good Eevening :

You could get original disk from ebay at times but all you need is the Activesync that can be downloaded from Microsoft. Get Active sync 4.2. The newer ones do NOT work with the X5.

Good luck with the wireless card. The Axim does not play well with many of them. (sometimes works but mostly not) Try drivers from d Link and be sure to remove the old drivers first.

Internet connection at my e830

To configure the Wireless connection you can use the Wifi connection wizard or setup the connection manually. I hope that you have checked your workgroup too. Also you should check if your IP settings are the same at the router and PDA (dynamic and static IP)! If you have some another device connected to the router remember them when you setup the PDA connection! In the end the MAC address of the PDA WLAN card must be saved in the router!

Casio e-100 questions......help!

Are you trying to install programs that run on your desktop to the pda? If that's the case, you cannot do it. The softwares for pda need to be written and compiled for your particular cpu and os.

Do 802.11b CF Cards Work on Casio E-115?

My experience with Linksys support has been one of horror. It relates to a different product - 2 port lan printer server. I never got it to work right & it is gathering dust. Perhaps when I have time I will try it out with WinXP with native support if it is built in. Although a manufacturer may claim on his site that a particular device supports WinCE 3.0 on mips cpu you have hake it with a ton of salt. There have been some threads on this boards for the specific device you mention & suggest you contact the concerned persons directly for their opinion & experience. I have found DLink to be far more accurate in its claims than LinkSys.

Is it possible to sync with Outlook from miles away?

Yes it is, But I think it's difficult to run. I found out this. "Gateway public IP Adres Lan Adres Host (vast IP adres, dus geen DHCP) Poort setting VPN en Firewall (hard en software settings !) Type router, bv 3Com 3CR856-95 (Secure Gateway) en eventueel firmware releases. (ivm Firewall opties)." This is what a friend of me uses to acces his pc with his communicator, yes I know it's a symbian os device, but I think it should be possible with any device... ?not? It reads that you should run a Bitween's Remote Control application an fill in this fields in this protocol an you can "Hack"into your own system an with this tool can sync. So it can be done but how exacly I couldn't find out.... Sorry. Good luck figuring out how!
