Ensure that you set the printer properties to the right Avery template, ensure also that original file is on right Avery template. If it is a word file for example start the file as avery template with right format number

I believe there's a settings that you need to adjust from that Broderbund Print Shop & Version 15. just to fit the business card when printing, let me double check that out...

How to print small envelopes on HP 7780

Here are a few tips for printing card:
  • Print a test print on regular paper. Before you use your special paper stock, print on regular paper to make sure your settings are right and there is no problem with your design.
  • Check the alignment. First, you can hold the test print up alongside the pre-cut business card paper and see if it is correctly aligned. If the alignment is incorrect, check the application you are using for alignment tools that can correct the issue. You might have to reconfigure these settings a few times to get the alignment you are looking for..
  • Set "Page Scaling" to "None" when you print. If you are using a Windows computer to print from a template or a PDF generated by business card software, the default setting can cause the entire sheet of cards to be scaled to a smaller size, causing the cards to progressively misalign as they go down the page. Once you click print, check in the preferences pane of the print dialog box that comes up. If page scaling is set to Fit to Page or a similar setting, change it to None .
  • Check the margins. If the design on your template goes closer than one half inch (12.7 mm) to the edge of your page, then you should look for the option on your print preferences dialog box that allows your printer to print the maximum possible area. Usually you will find this option either in page-setup, or as one of the options that are available after you choose Print from the File menu in the window that pops up. The exact location of this option can vary based on your printer type and driver.
Tip: If the program you are using is not giving you the results you want, try another program or an online resource.

In printing properties and printing preferences be sure and tell the printer you're printing labels, it allows more time for the card stock to reach the starting point.

Printing on templates

This is normally set through the page margins within the software you are using not the actual printer settings. MS Word has templates for various Avery labels, but I've found after loading the template you have to fine tune the margins for your printer. Use plain paper to print test pages and hold them over your card stock to check alignment.

Problem printing business cards

I had this problem today and think I've figured it out. Take a sheet of plain paper and two little pieces ot clear 'scotch' tape. Tape the blank sheet behind the business cards at the top/feeder edge and try again. You may need to tweak it a bit more but it stops it from printing so far up.

I am trying to print double-sided copy on card stock

HI there sounds like there is a blockage in the duplex area that is not holding any sensors down. Check the duplex area for torn paper, failing this it maybe a sensor problem which will then need a engineer.

Hope this helps

Only prints business cards correctly on plain paper, but not on the card stock.

I am the guy with the hp d'jet D2445. I ran out of card stock in failed attempts. Not wanting to give up I bought more (Avery, no serrations) and it worked fine. Don't ask why.
