According to a recent report we received, if it stops after 7 seconds, it has a problem with the inverter.

Due to the lethal voltages used and produced, I do not recommend that an inexperienced person work on these.

I would recommend that you contact your nearest Panasonic-authorized servicer.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Profile series kicks out during operation

My GE Profile series Spacemaker Microwave, model JVM2070BH002 after we set the cooking time will kick out after about 3-5 seconds. This is sporatic. It will work for a week and the kick out for 3-4 times.

GE spacemaker microwave turns off during cooking and display goes black

Step 1:

Door Switch

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, a door switch might have failed intermittently. Check each of the door switches for any signs of overheating, arcing, or burning. Also check each of them for continuity. Replace any of the switches that is visibly damaged or that only has continuity intermittently

Step 2:

Main Control Board

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops there may be a short circuit in the main control board. Check other components first, these boards are often misdiagnosed.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad and control panel might be defective. There are several other components that can cause this problem, be sure to check any other components before replacing this board.

Touchpad

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the touchpad might be at fault. This is not common. Generally speaking, if the microwave display is working and some of the buttons respond correctly but some don't, the problem is with the touchpad.

High Voltage Transformer

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the high voltage transformer might have an intermittent short. This is not common. Check other components related to the microwave symptom first.

Thermostat

If the microwave runs for a few seconds and stops the thermostat might be defective. Watch our video on testing thermostat

It runs for 5 seconds then kick off

probably a defective magnetron; or, if it's a inverter model, it could be the inverter iself.

When start Microwave after a couple seconds it stops and asks you to set the clock again.

The magnetron on most all microwave ovens is tied to the microprocessor that drives the display and the input from the keypad.
Check you manual to see if it comes with a self-diagnostic (higher-end microwaves from Panasonic, LG and Jenn-Air come with them) and run it (normally kicked off by a keypad sequence).
If unplugging the microwave and plugging it back in after about 15-20 seconds doesn't correct the problem, then I'd get it serviced if under warranty. Microprocessor will need to be replaced most likely. If not covered under warranty then you're looking at out-of-pocket repair or replacement.

GE spacemaker Power goes off and clock needs resetting

Try going to the breaker box and shutting off the power to the microwave for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, turn back on and set the clock. This fixed my clock and turntable both. Apparently turning off the power resets the software in the clock.
