Question about Frigidaire 36" Built-In Electric Cooktop - Black

Open Question

Ceramic cooktop 4 element +warmer, model #FEC36S8HBA

Hi, one of the burners/elements will not turn off unless I push and/or repeatedly turn the knob several to many times. And at that point I still don't know if it's turned off completely because of the burner indicator still being lit up for 20-30 minutes after turning the know to OFF.
If you know the problem, can I order parts to fix it myself?
Thanks, Elaine

Just purchased Ilve Ceran ceramic cooktop. Is V364X the cooktop model number? The outer are of the left front burner does not heat up

You may already be aware of this but ... If our ilve ceran cooktop is the same as yours turn the knob past the 12 setting till you feel pressure and it springs back. This is the switch to fire up the marked outer elements.

Westinghouse freestyle 521 stove ceramic top.elements wont turn down no matter where switch is. burns food. Have used different size pans etc,

there is a problem with either the elements or the controls,i doubt it is the elements as its unlikely that all of them are faulty at once.the control knobs or control panel is more likely the problem.

Knob not working and some burners not heating

The switch under that knob is bad.  It's called an infinite switch.  As far as the elements go, first thing to check is for proper voltage (220) to the cooktop.  Let me know what you find.

Remove ceramic cooktop

grouch, kill the power to the cooktop. You are going to have to remove the mounting brackets from undernieth and push the cooktop up. After it's up from it's installation position remove the side and back screws holding the top to the botom. Remove the burner knobs and it should come apart. Sounds like you have a bad burner switch.
